    Grind Update! LOL

    Season 2 - 243k XP

Team Affinity 2 - AL East 69% NL East 61 % AL Central 66% NL Central 66% AL West 52% NL West 66%

All TA2 Conquests Maps and Showdowns completed. Also pushed through my 5 MTO files past All Star Break to get 14k in each one.

TA2 Mini Seasons, currently 10-0, got the first two vouchers etc.

    May Topps Now Completed.

Kaiju Program, at 90 points, just need to complete the Showdown. I failed this a few times at the moment before the final boss, UGH. LOL

Once I finish the Showdown above, I will dive into the Event and also have Ranked Co-Op Inning to start with my buds as well.

Re: What Are You Working On? - MLB The Show 23 Edition

I actually played a decent bit of DD yesterday. I settled-in on my main goals for now.

      1. Completing the Core collection.
2, Seeing how far I get on the Set 2 collection without buying cards/packs for Set 2.

(I'm basically eschewing Set 1 at this juncture unless I seriously want a specific card.)

I had most of the moments done for the Mexico city program; so I decided to focus on that (as I would be able to earn progress for TA and the main reward path). Unfortunately, the Showdown gave me fits (dang Urquidy) but I finally knocked that out. Nearly done with that program though (knocking-out the Mexico and Mother's day map along the way). If I play DD tonight, I should be able to finish-off the program.

I think I am going to really focus on TA 1 after that. That might sound backwards, but I need those gold/diamond flashbacks to complete the core and am lagging there in terms of progress. The beautiful thing is that I'll still be grinding TA2 repeatable PXP missions at the same time. Once I get all the core TA1 cards; I'll re-focus on Season 2 content; but there's no need to rush.

My first priority is still my Reds franchise; I only have about 50 games left in season 1 and hope to get through that by the end of this month (which may be a tad aggressive, lol).
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

i didnt get to play that much this weekend other than friday night and some on sunday , but i am almost done with the Kaiju conquest after i did the moments and showdown for all 3 divisions and the kaiju program . i need to do topps now but i may wait a week on that .

i got the future stars in every division and so far Ronny Mariciao is killing it even tho his card is way worse than than the last time. hopefully once i get some of this stuff done this weekend i will finally go take on Ranked because i need the Musial card hes always one of my best hitters and plus with the Mcgwire boost the Cards theme team is going to be nutty .

It’s frustrating how long it takes me to complete anything, the showdowns are borderline impossible and the moments take me way longer than most of the posters here. Conquest is pretty straightforward, though, so I’m slowly working my way through those.

Really wish I could save mid-game for Conquest and Mini Seasons, my inability to predict when I’ll be pulled away keeps me from playing more than moments fairly often due to domestic obligations.

I'll offer one piece of advice (that I imagine most of the regulars here would agree with).

When doing Moments/Showdown; avoid the mindset of "got to get through this". Half the battle is settling-down and playing your ABs like you would in a normal game. Trying too hard to "get them done" can be incredibly counter-productive.

Everything about this game is geared around one skill....patience. This mode, in particular, preys on people that lack that skill.

I agree with this 100%. Once I learned this with showdowns and moments it got so much easier.

Also be sure to post in here when a specific moment is frustrating you. It's been scientifically proven that venting about moments in here brings success immediately after.

Shoot, there have been times that I was just THINKING about venting in here about a moment (following some aggravation) and then I'd wind-up nailing it.

well i did it i sold Griffey and bought Trout since he was more expensive so now im about 70K away from degrom .. i could maybe sell my 99 Waino i pulled but i think he went down alot but ill check into it but if not im sure it wont take me too long to get degrom then Jeter when i can save my stubs for new cards i want to try like that Harper or any Cardinals cards that come out to help..

i think im going to grind out all the new stuff this weekend as far as i can get then jump into Ranked finally monday and start working towards that Musial ,, so if anyone wants to play some COOP and grind together lets get it.

Jumping between moments, conquest, and events is killing my online hitting. I'm hitting like 200 with everyone lol but still able to win about 70%

I'm basically trying to get pxp with team affinity cards then once they all reach it, i go back to conquest/showdown and try to earn a few more cards then jump back into events....prob not the most efficient way to do it. I do have lefty grove so I might just eat mussina and wait for the rewind pack next week....I just tend to have more "fun" playing online when I'm actually hitting pretty decent.

I've also started pitching with the PAR more so than the actual trajectory of the ball or the ball icon itself. I think that's working out pretty well. It is interesting getting a perfect release and the ball still not being within the PAR region. It's also interesting that 9/10 the ball is wanting to be on the perimeter of the PAR. It's helping to throw the inside sinker to lefties from righties better. I just set the bar to be on the inner edge and if it's a ball so be it. I was throwing the ball right on the black but the PAR was obviously a good bit in the strike zone and it usually would enter the meaty part of the zone

I’ve finished going through all showdowns, moments, and conquest except for the TA2 west showdown. I’ve been knocking off as many missions as possible when going through conquest.

I’ve been struggling finding motivation to do events this year, and went to play a game of ranked last night and first matchup got a created stadium with the ankle high walls. I’m not sure if I have bad luck but I’m so sick of playing in those stadiums already this year. Offered a friendly quit which they accepted and moved on.

I shouldn’t let them get to me, but it’s been hectic and tough to find time to play online where I won’t be interrupted and I’d rather just play regular baseball, even if I lost.

I should finish up the last team affinity conquest map tonight and not sure what’s next. The gold mini season looks interesting, although not sure I trust mini seasons yet.

This year feels different with sets, so I’m not feeling the need to load up on unnecessary cards. I’ve really been targeting Yankees, along with a handful of favorites. So have about 300,000 stubs saved up, so I guess my best bet is Mantle. I guess probably target the last to get core collection, Mantle, then work on Set 2 to get Goose and Big Unit.

Try casual online play... Not sure if you get player xp but it does affect your batting average, era, and stuff. If you just want to play and you get into some dumb stadium you can just quit out... Also if they're doing dumb bunt stuff

I'm going to give meter a shot online and see how that feels. I see no reason to use pinpoint if perfect inputs routinely miss location and the strike zone being so tight is just frustrating. Much like hitting, I don't need every pitch to be a strike but I haven't seen real rhyme or reason to the outcomes. Like at this point I'd rather use meter and avoid the challenging gestures like circle changes out of the stretch if pinpoint is tuned the way it is.

Granted, I have no idea how much bigger the PAR is on any other input but just curious if it at least "feels" better.
