is gagne worth it at 31k? He looks good but so far in 11 ranked games I don't think I've had to use my bullpen more than once or twice. He's always been one of my favorite real life and in game pitchers. I think i've only faced him once so far this year

I haven't tried him this year but he kinda sucked last year I thought. They changed his release a bit which affected his perceived velocity but attribute wise he's a tank as always

Sold Ketel Marte and Yu Darvish at a high, right before the dip. And then bought back Marte!

As soon as I have time to finish Topps and Charisma, I'm going to have to decide between Pedro and Chipper. Part of me wants to add Machado for ~50K because I destroy baseballs with all of his cards, so that would likely mean Pedro. But it's just the unknown of how many more chances we'll have to realistically get a second (or even a third) boss out of the collection, compounded by the fleeting time of Season 1.

Anyone already there? Similar question on Griffey vs. Posada. The latter actually looks like a better card at a clear position of need, but I want as many ABs with Griffey before they 'take him away' from his.

You'll be able to keep one wildcard. So far I think I'm actually best with jazz... I assume also we'll be able switch our wildcard out as frequently as wee want

I'm definitely taking Pedro over Chipper whenever I reach that point (still haven't unlocked Trea yet), since I'm a center sitter at the plate, and have trouble covering the whole strike zone with taller hitters. 6'2" is my height limit for online-usable cards, and Chipper's listed at 6'4". I also don't bring cards that can't steal second base into my online battles, so Babe Ruth's 58-speed card won't be making my team, either.

I was hoping that yesterday's update might've fixed created stadiums being glitched in online co-op, but they're still super buggy, and're looking like the root cause of many desynchs and freezeoffs. It sucks having one of my favorite features rendered unusable in the online mode I enjoy playing the most

I wouldn't fret much about losing cards because it's almost a virtual certainty that guys like Griffey and chipper will get other cards to be eligible each rotation

Finished off BR and took posada. Finished Topps now program so now just 1 card from set 1 collection. I have cards now that I'm not ready to lock in but will get a few more free charisma cards when I get to that.

Still leaning Pedro but I WANT chipper and 60 more cards does seem pretty far away before option 2.

Played two more ranked games and now up to 13-0. First start with roki was good but then Gibson in my 2nd start just seemed unhittable more so than roki.

I was checking my stats and all my lefties are hitting like 100 against lhp except for Soto who is still 1000 vs lhp. So that seems like it'll be a problem vs higher difficulties. I'm also not getting much power with Sosa.

Platooning devers at 3rd with Johnny bench (chipper could go here)
Platooning Soto and mcgwire at dh (altho haven't been subbing mac in)
Platooning mcneil with Joc pederson at first basically for defense at the end but I never get to the end of a game

Also currently have Jeremy Pena on the bench for speed and defense.

I'm hitting like 600 with jazz against RHP and 100 against lhp so I may have to eventually downgrade him to the bench or platoon him with Trea turner at 2b.

I like the idea of platooning so much more this year since we don't have to fool with Pitchers hitting

But I don't think they're making a better chipper, Pedro, babe... Almost wish they'd make those 3 core cards since they're fairly hard to obtain. Especially obtaining all three

I'm interested what other core cards they'll introduce in the set 2 era if any at all

I'd assume another stacked set 2 collection like set 1 is a safe bet

Not necessarily better - just another version. There's tiers to the 99s now so Chippers ultimate 99 is an expensive collection card that will get cheaper and easier to acquire over the next month.

During the next rotation, they could release another 99 that isn't quite as strong and make it easier to acquire. I suppose it's not a definite for every single example but I feel like that will happen for most players

Anyone know when the Texas Rangers City Connect uniform program will be released? The game usually has the program available the weekend the uniforms are worn, but that doesn't seem to be the case this year unless I've completely overlooked it.

I was working on the hellish Charisma Showdown last night, and finally got some progress rolling with a particular lineup. Got to the 4th showdown, beat it (Mad Bum), and then....an unexpected server error occurred just before I did the next draft round. Logged back in this morning, and it treated the 4th showdown task as having been failed, killing my playthrough. Super frustrating, but at least I had gotten partial stub reimbursement from the first three tasks.

Otherwise, working my way through the US Conquest map for the first time, switching to Charisma showdown whenever I get bored with that. It would be nice to have more than 1 RP and 1 1B getting Charisma PXP during my conquest matches, but with the Showdown being so difficult for me, that may not be in the cards. I did pull Scherzer this morning from a pack, which was nice. Down to the "big 5" live series collections - NYY, LAA, LAD, NYM, and STL. Completed the FA collection also, which I believe was how I got Max via all those reward packs.

I finally got enough stubs from flipping to put in an order for Cole, so should be able to knock out NYY shortly. Meanwhile, I'm progressing through some of the uniform and equipment collections to generate additional packs.

I will eventually probably cave in and have to do BR/Events/Ranked just to complete the egg hunt and try to get a couple of those reward cards, but I'm really not looking forward to it. I'm still doing just timing hitting and button pitching, and I'm guessing that pitching approach means I will be like a wounded gazelle surrounded by hyenas whenever I do finally venture into the online modes.

Have about 160k now and not sure what to do with it again. Could get griffey and maybe move Jazz to 2nd or save for tatis. I think it was 2020 when I loved his swing and then 21 I wasn't great with him

Did scouting report packs get doled out yet? I never got them in 22 after getting them in 21. I even unsubbed and resubbed multiple times last year.

If people are getting them then I think I'm going to send a ticket in and see if they can hook me back up

I'm stuck on the Jeremy Pena 2 XBH moment in TA. I can get plenty of hits but every single one of them is right back up the middle straight at center and you cannot get a double out of that. I've hit the ball in the gap just once. I've purposely tried swinging early and swinging late to try to hit the gaps but all that does is result in weak contact. I'm extremely annoyed with it because it shouldn't be this hard. Out of about 25 attempts I've managed like a total of 5 extra base hits. I don't what I'm supposed to do because good/perfect contract ALWAYS results in the ball being hit straight to center.


EDIT: FINALLY DID IT!!! Crap!! This was way harder for me than it should have been.
