I think I've had more hit-by-pitches than actual hits with this 97 Luis Urias WBC reward card

His batting stance already crowds the plate like a fat kid at a Shoney's buffet, then his leg kick stride animation acts like an Imperial Star Destroyer's tractor beam, bringing escaped balls into his body like there was a 60,000-credit bounty per taken base

This dude kicks HIGH—like Kasumi from Dead or Alive—and I can barely see beyond his knee on my 1080p TV screen to locate the hidden pitches that’re being hurled at me, yet the clueless CPU keeps on beaning me repeatedly

That way, they're easier for new players to get a grasp on and still a clean read for someone that might not be getting any new information out of it.

No, thank you! As one of those new players (Maybe 2 months of the 22 edition of the game before buying this one, after not playing console baseball since NCAA Baseball back in 06), I'm getting a lot out of your articles so far.

The one on camera angles might have saved me from going back to last year's game due to my inability to hit anything. Strike Zone has really helped me progress through the offline DD storylines/moments and get me into the 23 edition while I wait for better rosters for Franchise mode.

Your article on how to do conquest mode has me debating my "play every single combat game out for max XP/parallel" approach so far, as opposed to racing to get the rewards more efficiently. I'll probably switch to your approach when I get tired of the grinding that still feels pretty fresh and exciting this early in the process for me. I'm also slowly adjusting my "do a little bit of everything" approach to DD and trying to focus more on completing full modes after reading the "What to do first in DD?" article.

I will 100% never play any significant amount of DD online, but you've made a huge impact on my enjoyment level for the offline version of this game just over the course of this week.

      So, again, thank you!

There is some value in playing the conquest battles as you'll get more reps in low pressure games. That's where I really spent a ton of time experimenting when I started. But mini Seasons didn't exist then and that provides a lot of rewards itself.

Ultimately playing whatever you enjoy the most is where you'll get the value in DD. There's a million things to do and once you get comfortable with the actual gameplay, it opens up the whole mode.

I'm glad the articles helped! Feel free to venture into this thread with questions too. The peeps in here helped keep me engaged when I was new and struggling and there's always a lot of discussion, especially early in the DD cycle.

Any feedback on how the new negro league stadiums play online?

I plan to unlock all the negro league content this weekend (I think)

Prob gonna do a mini seasons run during the two nights of wrestlemania since I won't have to pay much attention

Also, any rough estimate on stub count needed for live series collection for someone that doesn't want to take the time to do it themselves?

oh sweet I only need 1.6 million more stubs then i'll be good to go!

Not really I have a pretty good chunk of the NL done already. been selling all the AL side and NL duplicates to get Sosa first. Then i'll do opposite and sell all the NL guys and duplicates to get the AL. I am keeping the Diamonds if i pull them though not selling any unless duplicates.

Mainly just putzed around last night; couple of conquest games and put together a team for the lefty mini seasons. That unlocked the first boss pack which I then sold. Felt like ripping packs, so bought a 20-pack and pulled Mookie. Sold him and combined with the sold boss was able to finish-off the NL East and got back to where I had been stub-wise at the start of the night.

As of right now, down to the AL East and NL Central. I'll mainly focus on completing the remaining teams other than Judge/Goldy/Arenado; but I'm not really inclined to buy any of the 3 right now.

Will probably pop back into franchise this weekend and continue to accrue XP that way.

I'm at 570 plus I have the trout 99 and the boss pack... I'm prob close to 8-900 in assets

I'm not going to play ranked soon so I don't really need a good squad... 99 trout and lindor aren't really necessary I suppose I just hate to give up a 99 trout

Man I suck at event games. 6-10 last night. I just get into swing mode and can't stop myself. And at least for me.the Mad Bum card sucks balls. He gets lit up like a Christmas tree.

I realize that we are only a week in and I have not played as much as I usually do but I am already wondering if I am going to be able to keep up with even my modest goals.

My modest goal every year is the Cardinals Collection and accumulating all Cardinal Specific cards.

It's going to take some time.

                        Jordan Walker 90K
                        Jim Edmunds 50K

Stan Musial Collection reward requires around 158K
                        Goldschmidt Live series 70K
                        Arenado Live Series 80 K
                        Ryan Helsley Live 8K

That's just shy of 300K needed after one week. I am sure the prices will begin to drop but I am also sure that we will get more cards added that will be just as expensive.

When you add the fact that the 140K I need for Edmonds and Walker basically gets me 3 months of use before set 1 cycles out (and they probably release new Edmonds and Walker cards that will cost just as much) I have to wonder if I have the drive to keep up with the pace of this treadmill since I am not one to flip cards or to risk my stubs investing.

I guess we'll just wait and see how many stubs I can gain in offline content as they release it.

I think that's the play. I sold most everything but the 99 trout and I'm at 700k. Since I'm not doing ranked soon I don't really need trout so should atleast be able to knock out the nl collection.

This weekend Im doing team affinity and storylines so won't even be using trout anyway. Most of these live series rewards on the nl side don't look too great outside of Wagner, aaron, musial... Anybody else make a regular roster?

I haven’t played online a lot, but I’ve been using Comiskey and like it. Down the lines aren’t very deep, but centerfield is huge. You definitely want a good defensive outfield playing there, I’ve been using Griffey, O’Neill, and Edmonds and they seem to run down pretty much everything.

Speaking of stadiums I finally created my own. Had a pretty tiresome training session today so didn't play events. Rattled off a couple mini Seasons games and then created a newer version of the stadium I made last year.

I don't like it as much as the one last year but I'll play with it for a bit. I don't put a ton of detail into these things I just try to make them look like they make sense with a unique flair. Named it the same as last year - Greek Isles as an homage to one of my favorite classic Tiger Woods fantasy courses.

Just made it like a boardwalk style stadium with a hotel attached. Basically like a baseball specific destination.

So I've never really gotten in to ranked play before, as I use directional hitting and know it puts me at a huge disadvantage.

Does anyone else play ranked with directional hitting? Is it possible to even be competitive and score more than 2-3 runs per game? I've been doing co-op a bit and if I get a hit it feels like a miracle. I am not trying to get to the top of the leaderboards, I'd be happy with a record around .500.

I really dislike zone hitting as my plate discipline goes out the window when I switch to zone. I can use it, but I'd rather not.
