Finally found my event groove, got to 35 wins and then pulled the base round of the alter ego pack, bah! lol..

Finishing up the gold mini season today. If anyone hasn't done so yet and is in need for some stubs, you could sell everything you get and end up with around 100k or a bit more.

      Hitting great today

In br I think I'm like 12-4 and 3 of those losses where in those max elevation 150 ft fence fields. I lose 100% of those games. I hate them but don't quit out of br so I can atleast get pxp

I’m going to try to play some more ranked today. I finally broke into the 800’s yesterday and with another full game, I’ll get to 100 points in the program to get Musial. I might change my lineup to best card at every position for a couple games to try to get the few more wins I need to hit WS.

Couple days after finishing the LS collection I pulled Judge and was able to get back to around 200k stubs. Still light on playing time and started the incognito program. Got the showdown and conquest done and just have the handful of missions left.

Have Topps now moments done but not the grind. Can you work on those missions in casual? I don't want to go into ranked with a ragtag group of cards just to work on missions and events are always so random with eligible cards. If you earn PXP in casual and can work on missions I might just start doing that for something different.

If you haven't completed the Chest Protector collection in the equipment tab, I recommend doing so. It costs about 7500 stubs or so (give or take) and you get a fair amount of stubs back on top of 2 gold equipment choice packs and a diamond equipment choice pack.

A lot of people did this at launch and then it spiked. It's way cheaper now and close to a guaranteed break even just from the stubs and diamond choice pack.

I ended up with eyewear that went for 25k stubs. Then pulled a chest protector that I sold for 1300 stubs and gold eyewear that went for like 800.

ugh im so frustrated i bought a switch so i could do some mini seasons grinding and things like that easier and well of course i cant log into my mlb the show account on the website to link it to my other account . i have tried everything and it still says login error . i sent in a email about it and hopefully it gets resolved soon or else im going to be very upset i just spent all that money for nothing.

but other than that this weekend was a good one for grinding and playing i got caught up on almost all of the conquest maps i missed out on and finished the incognito program and then went into events a bit but holy crap am i getting destroyed lol still got to 11 wins i think so i guess ill keep trying to slow grind it before next wednesday for that 35 win pack .

i did jump into a few ranked games and im up to 8-1 i believe and a 480 rating i think with my all cards theme team .. i really love the lineup but low key that Gorman card is killing it im batting close to 400 with him and like 5 or 6 bombs . i also found a created stadium that looked like the old Busch and it has like 2000 ft elevation so im loving the nostalgia from going there as a kid all the time .

Whats the stadium? I can't find any that I like this year. I'm tired of the normal places and don't want to make a created stadium. It's a bad interface to navigate through.

One of the content creators should make a series on good created stadiums and show them off, have users submit and do some fan voting or something

I've been using like caesars palace or something. I think it's supposed to be a make believe Vegas athletics stadium? It plays fine but I don't love it. Can't remember exact name

I'm using one with the elevation around 2k

This year had so much potential but everything feels like a miserable slog. There’s a fine line between having plenty to do and having to plug away at the same tasks for hours for marginal rewards. I’m happy to grind but I invest hours in a program like Kaiju and feel like I’m getting nowhere, only for more to drop.

The ultra aggressive AI on Conquest maps makes them outright annoying now, too, especially when you get a single card for completing them.

I'm starting to feel a little behind too. I got up to 55 points or so in BR on monday alone but still just about 3/4 done on all team affinity and hadn't done any of the ingonito moments. I'm also trying to simultaneously do conquest and mini seasons when I have like 30 mins

I need to get some more wins in the event too, i'm just floating back and forth through everything but it doesn't seem super efficient.

I did p5 my trout tho and think thats my first p5...jeter and sosa are close

Not sure what you mean about "ultra aggressive AI on Conquest." I've noticed the same patterns since game release - the AI only attacks if it has 2 more fans than a bordering region, unless you are adjacent to a stronghold. Then, it may suicide one of its smaller fan armies into your threatening force. As long as you're willing to constantly check your borders during the reinforcement phase, it's really not an issue that I've noticed. You just have to be willing to defer your stronghold assaults for a turn or two to get your forces built up. FWIW, I only attack if I can play on Veteran or Rookie (I am still new and mostly suck at hitting!), but this approach works well for me.

At the moment, I'm focusing on completing as much of the "other" programs as I can without playing Showdowns, as I don't need that kind of frustration in my life right now. I'm still keeping up motivation with a couple of specific goals - to try to maximize my "head start" bonus to start season 3, and to try to maximize the number of Red Sox cards I can earn along the way.

I don't think I'll be able to get the 99 Big Papi card, though - wasn't it only an Event or Pack-locked card? I haven't seen it listed on the market, so unless I'm missing something I don't think I can ever have him.

Papi is in the set 2 collection. He's the second card you can unlock directly in that set. I forget the cards required for him but I think Goose is like 95 cards.

Friendly piece of completely unsolicited advice: keep making attempts to play on All Star. Being able to play relatively comfortably on AS can a) speed-up PXP missions and b) speed-up Conquest by necessitating fewer turns (and being subject to the RNG elements of the mode).

I can totally understand how tough the game is when you first start (we've all been there), but those lower difficulties have an inherent issue. The CPU throws SO many strikes on those lower difficulties that it can actually get a person into a really bad habit of wanting to swing at everything in the zone; which can actually result in worse hitting outcomes. I actually find veteran to be tougher than AS. It's very tough to work the count in your favor (because they throw so many strikes); and you want counts in your favor.

It's a balancing act though - if it feels utterly frustrating to the point where you aren't having fun, don't keep doing that to yourself. On the other hand, if you are able to have at least some success; the more you can experience the game on AS, the more quickly you'll grow.

You may not be ready to make the move now, and that's perfectly fine, but just keep this in mind as you play throughout the year.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

I appreciate this advice. I’m still wrapping my head around the fact that difficulty levels in this game are more nuanced than just being “everything is a little faster/harder and the AI is smarter/gets bonuses.”

Some of it is also my FOMO. I’m so busy trying to grind with my available gaming time that I’m not willing to invest the time to practice at other modes to be able to grind faster/better in the future. Throw in the different levels some modes restrict you to (Veteran for moments/Showdowns), and it’s tricky to figure out the best way forward.
