I wish it was socially acceptable to watch them sometimes. Sometimes you just want to see the no-doubt animation and watch how far it went. I only hit replay if my opponent is being toxic, which is surprisingly rare this year.

Looks like the 3rd BR reward is Alfonso Soriano. That’s going to be my obvious choice. Hope he’s juiced and in a Cubs uniform.

I probably have a different viewpoint from others here, but....

Online or not, you have just as much right as your opponent does to play the game how you want. You want to watch a replay, watch it - and you shouldn't feel guilty about it. If your opponent gets bent out of shape over it, that's their problem (they have the right to quit out of the game at any time). "Unwritten rules" in the online space are even more idiotic than the ones in real life baseball; the people that make them up are the ones losing...so "social acceptability" in this context is a total farce IMO.

Don't worry about your opponent. It's YOUR game, YOUR experience, and you have the right to play it how you want (provided it is within Terms of Service). Seriously, just play the game how you would want someone to play against you. You want to see a cool replay or two, there's nothing wrong with that provided that you have no problem if your opponent does the same.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

I liked sorianos first card in his first year (maybe last yr)....I don't think i even tried his monthly awards card last year because by the time you got to it so much other stuff was already better...

But yeah, depending on how he looks I could see him replacing my trea turner at 2b or even p5 mike trout in lf since set 1 will be wrapping up soon. I'm pretty sure chipper will be my wild card

          You don't play online....

I'd say 9 times out of 10, if someone is gonna replay their HR then they're prob gonna bunt dance if you throw a ball, pause excessively if you take the lead, R2 you constantly when you're trying to pitch, bunt with joey gallo with a runner on 3rd lol...

It foreshadows the toxic nature of an online player. It's obviously not exclusive in that everyone that replays something is going to be excessively toxic but like i said 9 times out of 10....it's coming.

I've played online now for 3 years or so and it's sooooooo predictable when a player gets all toxic.

Can you quit out? Sure. If I'm trying to stay undefeated in ranked do I eat the loss? If I'm on a 8-0 run in BR do I eat the loss? If I'm winning 4-0 in an event game and I'm trying to get done with that as soon I can...do I eat a free win? SDS has the power where they can pretty much eliminate all the toxic play if they want to but they don't care enough to bother.

Do we really need like 2 and a half mins of pause time that gets refreshed every inning.

Exactly my point - the issue isn't a person running replays, it is the anti-TOS behavior....

I watch every replay that I want, even my opponents. I don't give two you know what's about how it makes someone else feel. They want to bunt dance for me after as well? So be it.

I also will pull the right trigger when I have a runner on base 95% of the time. Why? I don't see the ball well out of the stretch for a lot of pitchers. So I make them finish coming set prior to throwing a pitch. Toxic? If so, so be it, but I'm going to play how I want to play, end of story. Like mentioned, guys don't like it they can quit. GG's.

I still wish they'd force the animation to come set pitching out of the stretch. I don't want balks online. But the rapid fire pitching has always annoyed me. And cracks me up when they talk about how realistic the game is and it's what they strive for yet 99.9999% of pitches thrown online are balks

I can’t hit to save my life with Soriano. That means I’m doing this for Dibble and the Core cards that’ll land Seager, I guess.

Ironically just got really excited to see Eric Davis and John Smoltz in the new duo. Interesting approach spreading such great cards over all the modes, and they’ve done it well. Pay for Mauer, grind for Posada, or settle (or not) for Napoli at C - it presents really cool decision trees when building your team. But it does make the grind feel a bit “grindier” this year with such long programs in the constant need for luck. I’m definitely playing a little less, but that’s probably just me evening out.

Whenever I play someone like you (sorry) I go into the mobile app and block them. Idk if that just prevents me from getting msgs from them but my hope is it prevents me from matching up with them ever again.

I'll quit in events or casual if someone plays like that but I'm not ending a good br run or ruin a ranked streak cause someone is playing obnoxious

That's why sds should just remove the toxic stuff that people exploit

So a guy like myself, who is enjoying the game, replays (mine or say yours), slows down quick pitchers and make them come set etc, you consider toxic? Nothing personal, obviously, but it's not me that has an issue, its players like yourself.

I don't want to speed through everything, I'm sitting back, relaxing, enjoying a video game.

The battle between "get everything done fast" vs "having fun" is felt by all of us, irrespective of whether or not you play online. I've been stuck in that place where I was trying SO hard to get everything done as quickly as possible...just rushing through everything. It made the overall experience miserable....I got annoyed at every little delay, every little setback, tried to jam through things, got frustrated at "lack of progress", etc. That mindset can be incredibly toxic for the gamer and this is precisely what the marketing guys are banking-on; that the impatience will induce purchases.

I finally shook myself out of it after some time and just focused on enjoying the experience vs overly worrying about finishing every single thing or collecting every card. The funny thing, once I stopped focusing so much on "getting it all done", I actually made more progress as those feelings of frustration are ultimately self-defeating. And I know from your progress updates, that while you focus on enjoying the mode, you still knock-out a tremendous amount of progress.

And to be clear - I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with wanting to complete everything. However, there's a real slippery slope of having a goal to complete it all and letting that drive override one's ability to enjoy the game.

(As an aside, the truly unfortunate thing though with this year's Season/Set model is that SDS is trying to push that toxic "speed through everything" mindset. Assigning "expiration dates" to cards is obviously designed to target vulnerable gamers and add to those toxic behaviors/attitudes (like rushing through things, finding exploits to circumvent grinds, feelings of frustration, etc.).)
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

Slowly but surely grinding my way through the Event/BR/pack-locked Set 1 cards via proceeds from card flipping while away from my console on vacation. Dabbling in some of the same core cards as well.

Definitely going to end up finishing the Mexico City Series Program to get those core cards, but I currently feel zero urgency to do so.

Not sure if you do br but I was able to get seager without having to finish the Mexico series due to br cards.

I got up to I believe Tyler Roger's and that was enough.
