Not sure if you are aware, but you can buy them (which is what I did....). Many of them are relatively cheap.

Re: What Are You Working On? - MLB The Show 23 Edition

For what it's worth it feels like we have way more card opportunities this time around.

With that, there is a lot more need to do player pxp things which are my least favorite in the game.

Fathers day cards are all really not too usable unless it's your favorite player or something but we'll have to do all the pxp to finish the program. I'm pretty close to the 2nd collection card for set 2 so that motivates me to play even tho not sure on Wright or hank

I think I may have to skip the event again to target Topps now, may program, TA2, and father's day. I'm almost done with TA2 but still seems like a heavy conquest grind for a while now. I have been keeping everything on all star to not mess up my timing patience too bad online

I've also started to place my left thumb directly on top of my kontrolfreek opposed to kind've on the rim/side. Ever since I've been pretty locked in and avoiding any type of jamming. I think I unconsciously did this some times and sometimes not but since I've paid attention to it I feel like my pci control is pretty on point

I have noticed that, thanks. Hence the slow grind from card flipping, as I try to focus on online and pack-locked cards to build up my collection. The TA cards will come in their own sweet time.

Got BR done and picked Soriano. It’s definitely the fastest and fewest games it’s ever taken me to get to 100 points. Ended on the most frustrating 11-0 loss of my life. So many late/early hits, realistically should have been a 4 run game. I got so tilted. I knew I had the pxp to complete the program so I just wanted to get out of that game and turn my console off.

I might not go back to BR to get the packs. Too much other stuff I need to grind and I’m going to have PTSD from that Alberto Mondesi card. He’s impossible to get out. Loved using him, but didn’t get much of a chance since I got his pxp mission done so fast.

Definitely going to end up finishing the Mexico City Series Program to get those core cards, but I currently feel zero urgency to do so.

Well, it’s been a productive week of flipping. Got Chipper as my 2nd Set 1 collection reward, along with Kaiju Yoshida. Flipping a few of the new additions until the margins no longer support doing so. Or until I get home and can actually play again!

Decided to pay the event and went 10-1 so far. Assumed getting 5 wins was repeatable and applied to father's day program but it's not which is a bummer

Need 10 sb with father's day guys 🙄... Seems all the stat missions are pretty high for what this program is

These pxp + mission programs are too much of a chug

Atleast I'm maybe 2 event games away from getting Jeter to p5

Does everyone like David wright? I'm pretty close to my 2nd set 2 collection pack and leaning towards hank since I'll be losing wbc trout in my God squad when set 3 comes

I took Wright with my 2nd pick after Randy and ive liked him so far after i get Br done ill prolly swing to ranked for a bit and really see how i like him.. i got that Matt Holliday and hes been really good so far in some conquest games , i wanna try Jackson now just to kinda see how cracked they made him .

what are some of your guys predictions for the Future star program and the London program??

I got to 20 wins in the event and got my Jeter and Sosa to P5... Along with wbc trout those are my only p5 so far.

I was planning to just get the rewind pack and was playing so well and so close to P5 i went up to 20 and went 20-3... It's crazy cause I skipped last event and the one before that I was like a 50 win pct

Pretty close to being done with team affinity. Up to griffey Sr in the father's day thing and up to mitch keller in the may program. I'll try to wrap those up this week and maybe start BR next Monday.

Not sure who my LF will be after set 3 drops cause I'll lose trout

Not sure on hank or Wright, I took randy 1st...leaning Wright bc I feel chipper defense is below his attributes

Feels like the game is kindve dying earlier this year. This thread isn't too busy and the YouTube guys I've watched in the past aren't posting too much

I think SDS is deterring some players with the longer grinds in the most recent programs. If they hit a HR with the Set 3 content, I’m hoping things will pick back up.

I suspect that the odd numbered sets are where SDS will succeed or fail this season. Because of the WBC, Set 1 was super juiced, so it’s a big mental hit to lose those cards in Set 3. SDS needs to compensate to rejuvenate the game mid-season, IMO

I’m definitely losing interest. I spent a few hours playing franchise for the first time ever yesterday because I just didn’t want to play DD.

I still kinda like the idea of sets. I think it’s a lot of the other changes making it less NMS friendly that’s hurting my interest. Programs are not fun or interesting and at best you get set fodder. I’m just tired of grinding for cards I’ll never use. The Father’s Day program is ridiculous. It’s just a bummer that the best cards are in packs, usually ones that you need to pay stubs for because they won’t give it as a reward.

Hopefully Set 3 is better and the all-star stuff is good. That’s looking like my exit from the game this year, which is a lot earlier than last year.

eduardo escobar 97 overall in the next event may be the best event card of the year so far....and ottavino is typically pretty usable. Altho we've got so many dominant right handed relievers I'm not sure if this is the time for him.

Hopefully escobar has halfway decent defense...to me he's like polanco where all his cards are way better than the attributes. I don't really use my bench at all but he would be worth while on the bench...hopefully they juice him up good.

This father's day thing may be the worst program in mlb history and maybe it's just cause I'm trying to finish up the May program at the same time and it's too much of the same at once

I fear this future stars program will be more of the same and they'll prob release a 99 Jackson chourio in diamond duos like the hollidays and make everyone mad lol

2 or 3 years ago they had that unique legends program that had babe and Tom Seaver.... I don't remember who else but it I think that was the best program type thing they've ever done and theyve never gone back to that.

They had some of those moments on veteran, some on hall of fame... Some where you could use your God squad and play a 9 Inn game or atleast 6 or so against the legends on hof

We need more of that. I'm just not stoked at all to work on getting like 20 more hrs with fathers day cards

Ah yes, the signature program. It was a little annoying because they didn't count for anything like stat missions (because it was done in Moments); but it was actually fun to play through.

Every program these days is pretty much exactly the same. Stale, bland moments (hit a HR or pitch a scoreless inning), a tiny Conquest map, maybe a Showdown, and a slew of PXP missions. I don't mind that structure once or twice; but they're doing it for everything.

Even with the very limited mechanics and modes already in the game, they could do WAY more with program structure variety.
