Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 24 Edition)

I didnt get to plat a lot this weekend like normal but i did get the other programs done along with the fathers day conquest . I think the only conquest i have left is the twins city connect one. I am at 240,000 in the xp path and have at least all TA at 30% .. only played a few event games but i think im just going to hop into ranked and use that to grind TA , i need that Matt Holiday and Big Mac for my Cards theme team. i bought the new Edman and figured id wait till Friday to see if i can pull Gorman from the free pack before i buy him .

Br is rigged, I still haven't got 7 wins in a run this year but keep going 6-1 and lose the 7 win game every time

Today I lost 12-2 with only 4 hits and I had more perfects and more good contacts than my opponent. Wtf. I also needed 7 hits that game to get the 35 for a fun but I only got the 4.

They also gotta do something about these hits up the middle and Pitchers behind the back catches on 100+ exit bells... Ditto to perfect perfects lined out to 3rd....i know everyone is dealing with the same stuff but man those are all just brutal

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 24 Edition)

Started the BR program and got up to like 42 in the program after one run. Didn't even get the 7 win mission just got lucky and drafted 2 silvers in the same draft. Was really just trying to grind as much XP as possible. I have zero interest in Events anymore since cards rotate so much already. It's like what's the point in playing a restricted mode with a small batch of cards?

BR and Ranked will probably be the way forward. About 100K XP away from the 95 overall Chipper. Hoping Murphy gets Supercharged since he hit two bombs today. Still having a ton of fun with the Castillo Live Series/Swanson Braves hybrid.

i started the BR program as well and am up to around 40 points i believe and i will say that 87 Brandon Lowe is a GOD.. i had his xp done in 2 games lol i should be able to finish it this weekend and then ill switch my motivation to Ranked ,not in a rush to finish TA at all so just gonna grind and let it happen naturally . I'm curious if we get a small program for the Game tonight at the field they are doing a storyline about but knowing SDS this year it will probably be a pack only thing.

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 24 Edition)

I had like 30 mins to play last night. Hadn't played since some br on Monday and I did one of the negro league programs to try to unlock a new stadium but I didn't get the stadium I wanted.

I then did a hr derby for the first time ever and it was actually pretty fun. It wouldn't be fun on a regular basis but I used one of the old parks and was trying to hit on the roof above bleachers then I went to coors and hit a 534 ft hr with hank Aaron... I was just trying to see who hit it the furthest

Its funny cause it was just mindlessly fun as I wasn't trying to accomplish some random *** task for 5 points of xp

I got to 12 wins in the Event last night because of course i had to get that Goldy and i got to use a mainly all Cards theme team with Willie being the only Giant i used lol but had a lot of fun , i hope we get some kind of program or even pack with more players in there. I do like how the Event only runs to Tuesday especially with Double XP

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 24 Edition)

I think I'm starting to think abiut running a franchise. I believe an online franchise mode especially would be perfect for me this year.

When s2 started I went at it hard and made a lot of progress that first weekend. I'm past Smith now but aside from Mondays when I play earlier I finish up work and my thought is "I guess I better grind along so I can get jeter/Jones" and I'm playing to just keep up. Every weekend I play the stupid weekly stuff on rookie and that's basically all I do

I'm currently working br strictly to get xp and cards for jeter/Jones. I'll never use moose or Castilla in ranked.

Half the time when I have time to play the game aside from Monday I just watch TV instead.

I almost want a slower pace where I can play 9 inn games with players I want. Not play rookie with Topps now guys that I don't want

I don't have a favorite mlb team so I'm not sure how I would want to run a franchise. I def think I'd like to utilize the legends and negro league guys. Tips?

I had more fun than any time all year with the home run derby and thinking maybe a decent stretch in a different mode would be good

Two nuances with Legends in franchise mode (at least in past games, I have not tinkered with them this year).

                  1. A number of Legend pitchers are listed as RPs when they were SPs.

                  2. When incorporating Legends, a lot of them will be given 1 year deal - it can lead to a massive FA class after season 1 that can leave a ton of good players on the market (due to financial constraints). I would keep budgets enabled though - trades get weird without budgets and often occur almost haphazardly.

What I would suggest is to take a little time and edit the roster in the main menu. Move any legends over to where you want them (swap them with other players on a team's 40-man). Once on a real team, you will be able to edit them. I would take a quick peek at shifting positions (i.e. RPs to SPs as applicable) and update any contracts you want (you can totally make them up). It can take an hour or two overall; but I think it is worth it for the best experience.

From there, you can run a fantasy draft franchise; or just pick a team.

(Final note: there may be a roster in the vault where someone may have done some or all of the work already - always worth checking-out)

I think a fantasy draft with legends and budget turned on might be the way to go

I'm trying to find ways to like this game but DD is just not really doing it for me. It's starting to feel like a job and a job that I don't want to do

I feel like a online league would also be down my alley, like 9 inning ****** games or whatever but I don't think I can commit enough to certain times to join one

Based on what you've been saying, I agree with you, a fantasy draft franchise may very well be the way to go for you.

No game should ever feel like 'a job' to players - games are supposed to be fun, not work. I stopped with DD early-on this year and as a consequence, I'm already into season 3 of my A's franchise (having played every game) and am having a blast with it.

Hope you find your happy place with it too.

More events like this one, PLEASE.

I loved being able to use Mays and Paige, neither of whom got any love towards the end of last season. I ended up buying and selling back Hank Thompson, and he probably won me 4 of the 10 games alone.

Done with ALE and NLE in TA, now working on the ALW.

I hate doing Conquest during double XP weekends, feels like so much wasted time on the strategic map. I’ve missed most of the double XP weekends in S2, so it feels like do-or-die for me to max out my offline play today. So I’m just grinding stats against the Rockies vs CPU on rookie, as usual.

Trying to save ALC and NLC for last, so I can add Sizemore/Morgan/Chapman to those rosters. Plenty of ALW and NLW talent is already available from Live series anyway.

This really does feel like work instead of playing. All that keeps it fun for me at this point is the crack of the bat and the no-doubt HR camera.

I've tried to deny the feeling I think most of the year but this past week it just hit me. Haven't played at all this weekend but I'll Def play my normal carved out time Monday morning and hopefully finish my BR run.

I also have 450k stubs and nothing to buy with them.

I really hope they reboot next year or go back to the 9 inning program type deal, that was sooooo much better than this.

Finished BR today. Saw everything gameplay has to offer during my play today haha. Played pretty well and finished the program and got to the 95 overall Boss pack.
Immediately upgraded to the new Chipper and will probably start grinding Ranked now.

Also got to Morgan in the collections.
