Yea i heard that the XP is going to be toned down on that program once Friday hits..

So i decided to jump on for one last Ranked game before Friday and wanted to use Babe and he did pretty well went 7 innings only allowed 3 runs my first game on HOF but i was facing my nemesis Kerry Wood i cant hit him at all and i dont know why. I think i would rather face Randy or Donaldson than him .

Who is the pitcher that noone can hit no matter the game or rating??

Yeah the program XP is being reduced in old programs. Can still save them for a "boost" in the next season but it'll be drastically less. Probably more value in getting the big XP now and getting the spins

I wonder if the city connect conquest XP is also being reduced? Because those aren’t technically programs. Might be some boosts for S2 to be gained that way.

I doubt they reduce those because unless I’m misremembering, they aren’t more than a few thousand xp anyway. I think the programs they are reducing are the ones that have tens of thousands of xp.

If you're psyched for Season 2, maybe don't look at the "Fresh Start Choice Pack 2." It's not going to help, lol.

I'm really curious to see what SCEA has to say post mortem when they think about next year's DD. The slow down and ramp up of each season can't be what they hoped for - I can only imagine servers weren't as busy this past week when most players had very little to play for. Or transactions, more to what they likely care about.

I got the bosses and collection stuff done on Monday and I haven't played since. Yeah, nothing to do. I thought about doing the negro league stuff for core cards but I have live series so I just watched TV when I had time to play this week.

I'm a few cards short on ta3 but didn't feel the need to finish it for cards I'll never use and I can't use the cards I wouldve obtained towards anhthjng else at this stage

I love Devers swing, but to start out, if you have the Live Series done like I do you sort of need Castillo to kick off Season 2, right? I didn't play at all with Trout, Acuńa, Yordan, etc. so I'm looking forward to using those guys with Babe, Pedro and Palmeiro (I raked with his first card). I'm also not sure how quickly that Wild Card (or second one) comes into play, but that'll be a fun wrinke to team building.

Who is everyone using for their Wild Card?

In order, I feel like it's Rollins, a toss up on Walker/Brett, and both Ketel and Mookie are really tempting but both will have suitable Live cards to start. For Ranked runs, I'm debating if rotating a starter (like Satchel Paige) would allow me to roll out some 99s for a huge advantage. Does anyone else use that strategy?

Looking at the Castillo boost right off the start of the season will probably be the best and i was thinking of even adding it onto the Cardinals team boost live series and it might be fun to run especially for guys like Burleson who had an inside edge of +20 yeaterday which is insane .. im actually really excited to see how its all going to work out . I havent used the big live series guys much either since i got them late into the season so im as equally looking forward to using trout and yordon for sure

Corbin Carroll was my best card last year...I'm not sure what speed team I would put together because I don't really steal much so I'd prob look to get him first but I have live series done so that prob makes the most sense but that squad of live series pitching prob isn't something I want to take into ranked

                      so yeah, not sure

prob gonna wild card santana if these cornerstones don't work, otherwise george brett because I got his card and because SDS is dumb I never got to use him.

I have a new unhinged idea for DD: the online and offline modes and rewards should be completely separate.

Offline would be entirely untimed and favor lengthy (but not punishing) grinds and just playing the game. Cards you receive as rewards would be realistically rated since mostly you’ll be playing CPU teams and quite honestly the game is less fun once you’re just bullying them with god squads (though you’ll still do that). Most of the rewards get laid out on day one but there can still be content that gets dripped out for special occasions.

Online, they can figure out how to do a power curve and introduce variety to team building, but this would be the only place to earn and use juiced cards.

There could be a pool of crossover cards (maybe including captains), maybe some way of mixing them (convert mini-seasons to be offline BR using a drafted squad of cards you’d otherwise only see online).

I imagine this will be an unpopular concept and most players probably just want to crush dingers with maxed out squads. But the fact is that the offline and online game play so different and many players DO have different motivations for preferring one or the other, and maybe the content structure should reflect that?

Welp, I think this is the end of the road for me this year in DD. Just tired of the grind (that's easy as heck) for the same cards, season after season, year after year. Mini Seasons, Moments, Conquest Map, Showdown, BR, Ranked, Events, and Play Now vs CPU. Get cards and don't use 98% of them because they are useless.

I guess if I need an online fix I'll head to Online Rated and deal with whatever that brings.

                            Good luck grinding everyone!

I literally want none of these new cards. Not a single 89 TA card would help me minus a reliever or two, and the idea of getting a 92 Trea Turner for 140K when I can boost Seager to 94 thanks to the Castillo Captain Tier 3 is a joke.

That said, I finally feel like I have a huge advantage to start a season with all the live cards and I'm taking it to Event. Yordan is a MONSTER, and Mookie just kills for me. Trout too, not so much with Acuńa, but absolutey with J-Ram.

I want to get into Ranked, and I feel like rotating my WC with 99 Starters is probably the best bet. I'm seeing the 90 Paige a lot in Event, so I can only imagine how coveted that 99 is that I haven't thrown a single pitch with.

I decided to get weird and Wild Card Cornerstone Buxton to pair with Cornerstone Castillo.

They nerfed Buxton, but him boosting POW for some LS cards while they get a Contact boost from Castillo is neat.

Won't run this long term but won't really decide what team I want to build until I see some of the early content.

I don't mind the reset, I'm just waiting to see if the gameplay update actually feels better next week and if they release more programs to grind.

I'm not interested in having nothing to do in-game while they pelt us with packs. But we'll see if they listened or not.
