I always felt like this typically was the case in the past. Special program series tended to wind up becoming pretty common as awards in conquest, vault packs last year, etc. There's a window of a few weeks or a month where you can only get them on the market, but you'd wind up getting them without even trying later. They'd no longer be among the best cards, but they'd be perfectly good for theme teams.

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 25 Edition)
This pxp weekend is pretty cool. Assuming it's still going Monday morning which I think it will be
I'll have trout, Yordan, possibly jram and skenes to P5.
I plan on playing the event a good bit tmrw, may dive into ranked for 2 or 3 games. Up to 55k stubs and debating on saving for ketel.
I really think the live series will maintain value for a while. I'm always good with seager but don't know where to play him defensively plus Yordan at dh. Still playing lawlar at ss for the defenseComment

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 25 Edition)
I’m working on reading comprehension. XP and PXP are not the same thing. I stupidly went RTTS heavy to try to max out 2x XP over the weekend, as I’m worried about not making it through the full 1st Inning program at my current pace. Figured out my mistake just as I was heading to bed last night…whoops!

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 25 Edition)
5-0 in ranked so far and skenes Def not worth the 65k or whatever I paid
I think it was 10-6 but it was sweaty type game. Opponent hit everything inside off the plate and somehow kept them fair
I'm not sure what to make of defense this year. I have p4 lawlar at ss with 99 speed and I think 89 reaction and 90 plus fielding... Feels like he gets to NOTHING. Same at 2b, I played jram there so I could use seager at 3rd.
I've used bazzana, Moore and gleyber at 2nd and seems like none of them can get to anything much better than jram.
What are people's thoughts on the online defense so far?Comment

I love the dumb as hell April Fool's program every time.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.Comment

In my opinion the only real glaring issue with defense is that OF throws from the corners still seem overpowered. A crazy amount of corner OFs can throw absolute darts to 2B to nail even decently fast runners, off hits that make it to the wall.Comment

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 25 Edition)
I've really simplified my directional approach with good results. At this point I either aim straight down (no one on or two outs) or up (runners on or shift). It's leading to a lot more hard contact, but also seems to give me better outcomes on off-time swings and weaker contact. Not sure what it is, but it just seems like trying to push or pull just leads to weak contact regardless of swing quality.
Finished Common Courtesy (meaning I got Musial, no shot I'm consciously grinding the full 1000). I personally really love when they put out lower rated legend cards (if anything I wish there were a few more in the program), so this was right up my alley. Running the bad stat missions was nice and mindless while listening to a game on the radio.
Can't believe I did all that only to get a Pipeline gold card from the random deluxe pack. I am the April Fool.
Also, what are the odds that tomorrow they update the program to reduce the requirement for "Nice try, Ramone?" to something more realistic?Comment

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 25 Edition)
Yesterday's Common Courtesy program was pretty fun I think - and was pitching pretty well with the common Vida so even more cool today.
I've been kind of just building stubs and not sure my next move, but ended up pulling Skenes with the login reward pack and gave in and bought Trout. I should have enough to finish up the AL West now - then I guess it makes sense to target the AL Central next. Not really in any rush or feel like I have a giant hole to fill, but have had decent pack luck.
I did knock off the Negro League storylines as well. Next up will plan on knocking out drop 3 for multiplayers and the Jester conquest. Thinking I might start playing with a Yankees theme team and see how much progress I can make on the Yankees journey as well.Comment

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 25 Edition)
Welp, done with everything as of now. All programs (TA all teams done up until 55k or higher. All Jolt players acquired), all conquest maps, all diamond quests, all mini seasons (classic finished 3 times, CC one 2 times), multiplayer program, and all legend and flashbacks collected (for now).
Just need the 6 big cards for the live series collection to be completed, but that looks as if it's a long way off. My pack luck beyond getting Judge early has been brutal. Flip side my buddy has pulled two Ohtani's and three Trouts, unreal!
Now what? Casually play Ranked? My buddy and I have been playing Ranked Co-Op.. Guess time to just play for fun with cards I like or just use my Mets Theme team.
We need more content, Ramone!Last edited by Fiddy; 04-05-2025, 10:38 PM.Twitch

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 25 Edition)
I guess the move is Diamond Quest on repeat. Just did back to back runs of the new threads one, got 3 of the 4 cards on run one, and all 4 cards on the second run. Sold everything I got, including all the fodder from the packs you get as well and got a combined 52k and change in stubs.
I'll just grind DQ this week and hope some of the gated cards come down in price while I just stock pile stubs from this.Twitch

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 25 Edition)
I'm caught up on alot but haven't played online much so have alot of progress I could make there
Chipped away at TA this weekend and that's a bit of a chore. Not much fun. I've finished conquest and one mini season, working halfway thru the other ms for TA purposes.
I'm 5-0 in ranked so I'm prob pretty low in weekend league. I usually don't play online on the weekends I catch up with offline stuff. Not sure my game plan there. Still don't trust any SP really.
I've finished most the cheap collections plus have jram, trout, seager, and alvarez. Been going back and forth on santander or ketel for my team. Leaning santander because I'll also get burnes and Buehler to help the team. I'll prob skip out on buying bellinger.
I'm liking the game but this weekend was starting to feel a little like 2024 homework again altho I was lucky and got goldschmidt, bellinger, judge hrs in my very first try lol. If I didn't get it in the first 5 attempts I prob would've given upComment

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 25 Edition)
I've still got 1.5 conquest maps to finish, but I'm caught up on non-TA programs. Taking a very laid back approach to TA.
I've already completed the 1st inning XP path and bought the extra boss, so really, everything else is gravy now. I'm enjoying the laid back pace and not pushing myself to grind for the sake of grinding.Comment

I’m close to this, just have 1.5 MS to finish and 1 conquest map (ignored the jester due to no XP) plus the common courtesy program other than TA.
Finally got into a hitting groove on Sunday (on Rookie, but it’s a start!) and am spinning the XP wheel now. Pulled and sold Soto, but am otherwise collecting Live diamonds as I pull them. I know we’re some time away from flipping being viable again, so Clemens will just have to wait for a very long time. Sigh…

Played a few more DQ's, was up to 135k, was able to buy Marte and finish the D Backs. 5 more cards to go!Twitch
