If I can win on Legend anyone can, my thumbs not what they used to be lol.

I could probably manage it if I switched to Zone hitting and Pinpoint pitching from my current timing/pulse setup, eventually. I just can’t stand the wasted time of no progression while practicing to play that way, all when I’m not sure my reflexes are up for it.

You would be ok with Directional and a "Vision" team IMO. Even pulse, just give it a try for a game or two, if it's not for you no biggie.

I played the sweeper 3 times yesterday, ended up with the 18 packs total and pulled 3 86 diamonds. One after each session, plus some a few golds as well. I'm up to 145k and basically from just playing the sweeper. J Ram is on my radar now.

I can’t say I’m a fan of having to repeat showdowns to earn all of the rewards. It really should be a one and done, or at least not force you to repeat mini-bosses, but allow you to repeat the final boss with the rewards and runs you earned during the first run. It’s just a cheesy, needless extra grind. And you can already see they’re relenting on it by making the Jackie Robinson showdown choice pack two selections vs. the spring breakout only giving you one.

It’s especially annoying when collection rewards are locked behind the extra cards. I’m trying to play without FOMO, though, and avoid grinds I simply don’t want to do just because there’s a card I don’t even care about that much behind it.

Maybe a good alternative would be to link the choice pack cards to specific mini-bosses, which would raise the stakes of those matchups a bit.

That said, I do like that the Jackie Robinson program has a multiple paths to completion, so if you really don’t care for particular modes, you probably don’t need to play them to finish.

Well said. I hate grinding Showdowns, the lack of PxP just makes it feel like a complete waste of when an epic TA grind still lies before me. One and done is the way.

Also agree on the well-structured Jackie program. More than one path to completion was really enjoyable. I also like that it reminded me to check for fresh Storylines at each Inning drop. I really enjoy Bob Kendrick and learning the legends of those players.

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 25 Edition)

Doing the Easter program. Enjoyed revisiting Diamond Quest for the first time since launch weekend. Some of the challenges are annoying but I had fun in the actual games. Put a solid beating on the sweeper on HOF (highlighted by Larry Doby hitting a no doubter and making two diving catches in CF) then had absolute nail biters on veteran and rookie in the stadium challenges, go figure.

Doing mini seasons to get a few other challenges and man I just hate this mode. It feels like it’s rigged to be tedious. Almost every game goes to extras. I’m unreasonably annoyed playing the Cats and Whales back to back and half their starters being the same because their concepts are so lazily similar (but the Cats are ~cursed~ oooooh).

I do hope they give MS more attention soon. It really needs it. It’s just been so lazy since it debuted.

Same. I had to tank an inning in a DQ stadium challenge to go to extras to get up to 6 hits, but otherwise that program felt just right.

I love that they made it so that offline players could actually complete the program this year, even though the collection was much more pack-oriented than I would have preferred.

Doby has been great for me in the event

I have jram p5 but I'm hitting like 225 with him online plus his defense is even worse than his attributes I think.

I might move bregman to 3rd and Doby to 2nd and I guess platoon jram with doby. Hate to give up on jram but I'm not good with him

Is bunting just a fluke online this year?

Ive been practicing with Jackie and pca in the event and despite being 99 bunt they both pop up a lot, hit it foul, hit it str8 to first, etc

                          Am I missing something?

I didn't really bunt last year but gonna use pca at cf for a while and that could be useful

Doby is one of my favorite cards every year. Just one of those guys who I consistently rake with and/or provides a great moment.

Well, last night and tonight, I finally made the jump. To zone hitting. So far…I think I’m doing better than I was on directional. Not sure how moments will work out, but for games…yeah, this might work.
