Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**
Oh, I am pretty sure I'll have a PS3 by the summer time but I just want to know how much improved this game is than last year. I mean any new pitching animations, batting stances, commentary lines, portrait, etc..........I don't want to waste $40 + tax when I'll be getting it possible 4-6 months!Comment

Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**
I think most of us ps2 guys are waiting until march 4 to get it. I just dont think too many people are so excited about the ps2 version that they want to go driving from store to store to look for it, I know I'm not.Comment

I got it, it's basically the same game as last years but there are some noticeable differences.
Framerate is solid, coaches don't disappear in 'chise, batter/pitcher analysis is pretty damn sweet. I will answer more questions if anyone cares lolComment

Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**
Guys I picked this up for the PS2 earlier tonight. I am considering getting a PS3 simply for this game but want to make sure there are no major issues before I dole out $400.
But to the PS2 version. Did not play last years version much. I did manage one game tonight Cards host the Nationals. Cards win 3-0, as Pujols triples in two and Glauss has an RBI single. Pitch counts looked pretty good without any tinkering. Looper threw a complete game shutout with 107 pitches.
Good variety of hits. One thing that was nice was the computer pitchers tossed three walks my way, which is not something you see a great deal.
After playing my game I played a "manage mode" game between the Cubs and Marlins. I fast fowarded several times throughout the game and in the end the Marlins drew eight walks and the Cubs five.
I thought that was nice. Getting walks right in a console video baseball game has been done right rarely, with the exception of the High Heat series.
Anyway, I thought it was a pretty sold game. But only two games does not a season make.
