Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**
Did not see any framerate issues. Thought the game played very smoothly. Since I did not play much at all, 07's game can't really comment a great deal on whether it is as easy as 07. I can see though how it could be easy. Wonder if some slider settings could help that.Comment

Jliven: it look like you may be the only person, who have a ps2 copy. If you play any further games, will you keep us updated?
interested to find out, if the game contiues to play very sim-like, and without any 'deal breakers'. Thank you.Comment

Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**
Hey, fellas!
I was thinking of picking this up. Two questions (minor):
1. Are your choices for season length still 14, 29, 82, etc?
2. Can you choose the amount of innings per game like in 06?
Keep posting your impressions - great to have alot of opinions!
Thanks!

Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**
The general consensus around here last year was that the graphics in 07 took a step backwards from 06. I rented 07, and the downgrade in graphics was immediately noticable the first time I fired it up.Comment

Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**
Any new sig stances that you can see made it to the ps2 version? They updated Manny in the PS3 version and wondered if you see the same thing here. Also, does the game play in 480p?Comment

Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**
Well, that's nice to hear. I thought MLB 07 was quality with regards to the on field play, but coaches disappearing and no trades kind of killed a franchise. Now that it's fixed, this PS2 title should be a quality game to carry us PS2 users one more year....Comment

Guys sorry, but I am tied up in a family get together so no chance for more impressions for a while. I will say after playing the Cardinals last night (I'm a Big Fan) all Cardinal player stances were "spot-on" in my opinion.

Re: MLB 08 The Show (PS2)
I bought a copy on Saturday to carry me over until I get the PS3. The games DOES seem to run a tad smoother...animations included. But there are some things that are not in this version, that I am sure will be in the PS3 version.
a) the Citifield construction beyond the outfield walls at Shea is absent on the PS2 version.
b) the create-a-player option is the same for the PS2 version of the Show 07...meaning VERY limited. Of course, there is no red glove option. But I know Kolbe said that for the PS3, this feature is awesome.
b) NONE of the ficticious players can have their names edited at all, unless you go into Franchise mode. I didn't try season mode yet.
c) The batting stances out of the box are really screwed up for many players. And SCEA, can you all get Frank Thomas' stance correct? The man hits from a CROUCH, he DOES NOT hit upright.......grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
d) The same goes for many pitchers' deliveries....incorrect
e) The players' speeds are all over the place....Paul LoDuca at about a 60 rating out-of-the-box? I DON'T think so.....For 2017...
