Re: ***Official Community Preview Questions Thread***
Gameplay:
- Have they increased the number of signs given by the 3rd base coach?
- Are the signs the same each game, or do they 'mix it up'? (edit for clarity) -- so does touching the cap always mean 'hit and run'?
- Did they fix the running issue where if you tried to advance (not steal) post pitch and the batter does not make contact, will the runner move now?
- When turning 2, does the fielder still go through a long animation at times that takes longer than it should and prevent the double play?
- When turning 2, but the fielder on 2nd drops the ball, is the runner always out?
- In RTTS, does the incidence of throwing errors go up when the player has a goal to limit the number of errors during a review period?
- In RTTS, are bad running decisions now penalized beyond just getting caught stealing?
- In RTTS, do the minor leagues get involved in trades during the middle of the season?
- In RTTS, if your contract expires, are you ever signed to a contract pre spring training by any club vice having to pick a club and have a 'successful' spring training?
- In RTTS, are there any more manager fielding mandates (shift left/right, etc)

Re: ***Official Community Preview Questions Thread***
Gameplay:
Regarding throws from the outfield, can you please check and see if we can cut a ball off after we have already chosen a destination for the throw.
Ex: Single up the middle with a runner on second, I throw to home with my CF but realize he will be safe and the batter is on his way to second. Can I press L1 while the ball is in the air to make the 1b cut it off (provided the throw is low and on target)?
ThanksComment

Re: ***Official Community Preview Questions Thread***
sorry but I have one more:
Gameplay:
Currently you can only cancel a pitch by pressing R1 with runners on base. Could you check and see if this can now be done without runners on?
Thank you
sorry if these have been asked before.Comment

Re: ***Official Community Preview Questions Thread***
"We’ve developed a system that will allow for the player to miss balls based on how hard they’re hit, the fielding ability of the player, and the player’s reaction time. Some balls are just too hot to handle for anyone, but if you are playing with the Gold Glovers, they’ll have a better chance of making some unbelievable plays."
Gameplay:
Does this mean you can "feel" a difference now between a hard hit ball and let´s say a dribbler?Comment

Well since im not going to the event (got kicked out), and ive withdrawn my name from being a community leader i can ask a question...
with the discussion again coming up about collision detection, how can we have balls that bounce off walls, stairs. etc, but player go through each other? what is the difference between a ball colliding with somethng and a player colliding with a player. ... or is this another one of those..."the mlbpa wont alow us to do it"

Re: ***Official Community Preview Questions Thread***
Jim/Knight,
I think this is Gameplay related.
I'd like to understand more about the whole foul ball situation. It does seem that there are at bats where there are sometimes 6-8 fouls in a row. It happnes a few times a game and it seems a bit...well...you know it is coming.
Can you dig under this a bit and see if still in for '09, or what is driving that scenario in the game?
Thanks!

This has been documented and will be looked at! You are being generous by saying 6-8 fouls!“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: ***Official Community Preview Questions Thread***
A couple of minor things that you may or may not have time to notice:
(They may have already been asked too, I didn't read all 24 pages)
- in '08 when you return from a saved game, there is no sound of the ball at the catcher's mitt for a while...sounds really weird.
- also in '08: the issue of the 'confidence bars' disappearing under the pitches (especially if you don't use API). Know what I mean?
Thanks guys!Comment

Knight/Jim:
accessories:
Roy McMillan needs his glasses.retro glasses I hope...
Can you check the Face Tool and see if there has been any changes made.
The baggy pants sounds retro, and would look great with my favorite socks...
The first video look at a home run showed the flight of the ball . The second videos only showed the batter hitting the home run. Please check it out. I want to be able to watch the ball all the way out of the park...
Thanks guys! Have fun.
