Damn. I only passed out until this morning. Now I have a hangover and don't have MLB 09 to play with.

This is one area i trully wish the show was better. The fielding seems script to me. Holding the meter down or tapping it made no difference in the infield in mlb08 and the throwing errors were script as well.

I cannot go into errors too much but the variety is quite nice this year.

Did they fix the bug where if you have a player who throws left-handed and try to change his position (and you happen to scroll through C, 2B, SS or 3B), he would throw right-handed? Thanks so much.

                      1. Have you noticed any difference in PCI. Basically can I make contact with almost anythig in the zone without moving the controller
On the higher levels the PCI is reduced but it is not reflective in the visual aid. That coverage icon overlay appears to be static. The contact slider makes the change under the hood so to speak, you will not see it visually. I tried just swinging with X and my hit quality was poor to non existent. Jim mostly plays hitting with X maybe he could comment more with that aspect. I know he played with contact up to check on things.

                      2. were there any sig swings (follow throughs...ex Ichiro, Griffey etc) or did everyone generally share the same animations
They are still tweaking these things.

                      3. Do we still have that same ugly animation when swinging at a pitch too far inside.
Yes, that animation is still there.

                      4. What did you notice different about the pitcher/batter duel. SCEA mentions this...but doesnt go into any detail
I cannot talk about this yet, sorry!

                      5. Do pitchers...pitch like themselves...(ie Wang, lowe keeps things down and is a groundball guy, Mariano busting people in with the cutter relentlessly
Yes to me the pitchers represent themselves better this year.

That's not a bug it's just like real life. You don't see left handed throwers play those positions.

how is this a bug? When have you seen a left-handed catcher, 2B, SS or 3B?

                          Am I understanding you correctly?

This is what I am also hoping for!

If we press hard on the buttom the throw should be as hard as the fielders skill allows. If we tap the buttom the throw should be a much slower throw.

But like I said the throwing system really needs to be based on the skills of each player. Because even when pressing hard on the buttom not every fielders should be able to throw a bullet to the infield.

I think there should at least 3 types of throws from the fielders. Bullet, normal, lob All based on player skill!

This would add so much to the gameplay and make it a lot more like real life

It would sure make you think twice about tagging up from third base on a fly boy to a fielder with a very good arm.

I have a feeling this change will be added in MLB 2010 The Show

Yep I would agree I do not know of any left handed catcher, 2B, SS or 3B.
