Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
I have been reading that fans reach over the rails for foul balls. Do we actually see the foul balls go to the upperdeck behind home plate this year? I know this didnt happen last year. Not big deal for me, but i figured i add to the question pool?Comment

Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
Did anyone happen to look and see if CPU Roster Control can be turned on and off during a Franchise? This is always one thing that had bugged me to no end. Most of the time, I enjoy letting things play out in my own little fantasy world. It doesn't bother me if the Cards sign "Bob Smith" from the FA list for some bench help. But when a major, major deal goes down (Manny to the Dodgers, anyone?), I want to be able to jump in, make the change, and jump back out again. It frustrates me that this handy little roster control feature is an all or nothing deal, with no middle ground. It's only a video game.Comment

One thing I did to help with that is just make it happen by flowing trades through my team. It's a pain though, and I hope they allowed for roster control to be selectable once the franchise is started.Comment

I'm with you on this....and I wish it would have been in the question thread...I definitely would have looked.

Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
I've actually put this in the Wish List ever since the Roster Control feature was introduced, but it never seems to take hold. It really prevents me from fully enjoying my Franchise, believe it or not. I never can figure out which direction I want to go when starting out, and inevitably, a month in, I feel I made the wrong decision, no matter which option I choose. It's a catch 22 that I can't escape from!Last edited by SoxChamp; 02-02-2009, 09:28 PM.It's only a video game.Comment

) does.
I just use my team as the conduit on big deals in the MLB. If I can't make the deal right off...I just drop a couple of attributes here and there and do it.
Not perfect...pain in the arse...but it works.

Yeah, the trade thing is unfortunately the only way to keep the feeling of CPU autonomy AND make sure some bigger moves are reflected...maybe it's addressed for 2010 (don't worry Knight, it's on my promised list)
On a side note, I dropped the attributes of Manny to make that move happen and forgot to bump him back up...lol...he was hitting like .250 off the Dodgers bench.
oops...lol

Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
True, but that creates another conundrum. If you are someone that likes to try to wheel and deal and put some trades together for some of the lesser known guys or prospects, then doesn't Force Trades toss that strategy right out the window? See, it's that Catch 22 I was talking about. Much simpler (on our end, anyway) just to give us the freedom to turn the option on or off at our choosing. It's only a video game.Comment

Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
Ya know, I really thought the news media made a much bigger deal out of that whole situation than need be. Maybe I just have a sick sense of humor and a twisted mind, but I actually thought the video of that was freaking hilarious. He wasn't trying to hurt the girl (and didn't), and she actually laughed about it later. Haven't we all wanted to take a baseball bat to a mascot's head at one point in our sports-watching days? I certainly didn't feel it was something he should have lost his job over. Too much sensitivity in this world for my tastes.Last edited by SoxChamp; 02-02-2009, 09:45 PM.It's only a video game.Comment
