I notice the game plays smoother in 1080P when compared to last year! Are you guys noticing this as well?

someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe throwing works this way whether the throw meter is on or not, if you have it off the meter is just not visible. I play with it off and have no problem differentiating between my throws.

But I also haven't payed that much attention so I very well could be wrong.

I just popped '08 in and set up the same scenario (Rays @ Phils...Kazmir/Hamels...day game). Wow...they don't even look like the same game. One thing that jumped out at me immediately was that the pitching release is much, much better this year. I hadn't noticed that the ball seemed to "jump" out of the pitcher's hand like it was missing a few frames last year.

The stadium looks immensely better this year...in '08 it really looks flat in comparison. Needless to say, I couldn't finish and quickly turned the '09 demo back on.

Yep, that is what I see too.

I don't know if anyone else has had it happen, but runner on second and a base hit to my center fielder, I have charged balls to throw home, but my outfielder slows up to receive the ball and then does a crow-hop and throw. I'm not saying that he stops, but his speed reduces so much that the runner makes it home safely. You guys can defend the purpose of this to death, but it doesn't take that much slowing up to catch the ball, and there are quicker crow-hops to get the ball home, too. Must I make a video of myself doing this?

And aside from home runs, balls in the gap, or balls off the wall, I haven't seen a ball clear an outfielder's head, and I'm talking some low-liner shots that get out there quickly are being tracked down. The outfield speed seems right though, so it must either be that they're playing deep or the ballpark is that small.

On that same token, I'm having zero success with Howard because of that damn shift!

I think I'm bickering because I haven't won in like 15 straight games!

Well not to my knowledge or recent memory, at least. Don't worry, I know that it happens, I've seen proof through some screencaps. I just get bummed when I'm not getting any hits and when there's that one glimpse of hope... run down!

WTH is it with Cole Hamels? I gave up another homerun to him tonight.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I thought Pared mentioned that he talked to the developers about the throw meter and how tapping the button or holding it down didnt make a difference. I sure dont see a difference... I would think if you tapped the throw button, it would result in a lob, but that isnt the case

It was like that in 08 too, seemed like every time a pitcher got up they would get a hit. I think it's a bit ridiculous IMO.

I didn't have an issue with pitchers getting "too many" hits last year and haven't had an issue until just now. I've given up 2 homeruns to him in the last 2 demo games I've played as the Rays.

Neither homerun was a no-doubter. The grandslam he hit last night just barely got out as did this one.

                        Kinda cool

Sounds like Power Pros. They were my Kryptonite.

Batting as pitchers, I'm always trying to hit for power and see what I can come up with. Thankfully I'm not striking out much, seeing that the opposing pitcher seems to sandbag it a bit when he's coming up and lays a good one in for me. The best I've gotten is a double.

I've seen plenty of balls over the OF's head...lined shots that just clear their heads. They take a few steps, put the glove up and just run to play it off the wall. I've also seen deep flies that the OF will play off the wall.
