So I stopped by gamestop on my way home from work today to pick up Street Fighter, and happened to overhear an interesting phone conversation while I was checking out. The clerk that wasn't ringing me up was on the phone with an employee from another local gamestop and I couldn't help but listen in once he mentioned MLB 09 The Show.
Apparently the guy or gal on the other end was confused about when they were receiving The Show, and some other games as well. The employee in my store was able to clarify that The Show is shipping out A WEEK EARLY, ON THE 23rd! He then proceeded to clarify some other shipping dates before he hung up the phone.
I was just about to finish checking out, and the clerk asked me if I wanted to go ahead and pre-order any game. So I was like, "did I just hear you guys are getting The Show a week early"?
He just laughed and said "yeah, but we can't sell it 'til the third... do you want to go ahead and pre order it though". I told him I would if he would sell it to me a week early, but.... he told me he couldn't do that.
Anyways, the whole point of this story was that I wouldn't be suprised to see this game start popping up as early as the middle of next week at mom 'n pop stores and maybe some wal marts as well. If it's true that the game is shipping out early there is a good chance that many of us will be able to get our hands on it before the 3rd. I got my hands on '08 five days early last year and I'm hoping for the same this year if not better.
