I plan on visting the same place that I got NCAA 09 from early. They know what the street date is, they just don't care. They are smart. They sell it to you for an extra $20 though if you didn't pre-order it.

Sadly, up here in Canada baseball titles are not on the top of the list for stores. Two years ago I had to wait a couple of days after release date to get it. Last year I had to dig into a box on the floor (on release day) in the store to help myself because they were in no rush to put it out on the shelves.

I got mine early last year, Im in Ontario dunno if that makes a difference

and when it comes to sports yes Canada is ********!

Why anyone pre-orders (unless they live too far from ANY commerce to drive into town and buy the game) baffles me.

On release day, you can walk into any Walmart, Best Buy, Game Crazy, etc., etc., etc. and buy the game.

And as we are discussing, maybe before release day ....

I pre-ordered because I work a full time job and don't feel like going "shopping" after work to pick up the game. By pre-ordering, I know that when I get home from work on March 3rd, my videogame will be sitting there at home waiting for me. I could care less about getting it early because you know what? I know that I will be getting it.

Fortunately, I'm patient too. If I don't get it on release day, I'll wait, not a big deal. I will be checking on release day though

I'm 'locked in' to getting it from one retailer since I have a couple of gift cards that I want to use for it...I hope they are not lazy.

It was the Meijer in Cold Spring near Kroger. I'll definitely let you know because I'm always out early on Sunday mornings.

I pre-ordered also because most of my time is with school. So I know I'll be able to play the game on March 3rd a good bit before my 8 o'clock class that night.

Well, according to Kolbe the earliest they can ship is March 1st....which is a Sunday?

Here we go again.

I'm pretty sure he meant to say that it can't be sold before March 1. A game with a release date of March 3rd is not going to ship on March 2 (a Monday). It would not be possible for it to arrive in ALL stores and get processed and ready for sale. Games/Cd's/Movies all ship WELL in advance, regardless of what these game shops tell you.

Why don't people understand this? And why is it always a topic of such debate?

If you live in the NW, you can usually find it a few days early at your local Fred Meyer.

This year I'll probably pick it up at BestBuy - with the rewards, I'm pretty close to getting a $10 coupon.

for any Canadians doing trades at EB Games

traded MLB08,Tiger,NHL,Metal Gear 109 bucks CDN, lot more than I thought I'd get.

But do it this week they said the trade prices would be dropping soon.

I work Loss Prevention at Wal-Mart and know our registers prompt not to sell a street dated title. Had to let an employee go trying to sell one early after a guy convinced him it had already released. Said he would cut him a deal and the guy ringing up got caught and was already being watched for other things. It's not worth a job and a company fine to sell a guy early. Why eveyone can't wait baffles me..

Well 2 Walmarts West burbs were selling um on Friday before the release date

I prepaid for my copy yesterday and the EB I'm getting if from is doing a midnight launch for the game.
