Wait...I'm confused. Are we seriously comparing a 60$ game (sorry 65$ with tax) to a 30,000$ car? I hate analogies like this because they completely overshoot the point (no offense meant to whoever started it).
The analogy fails because you would have to see much more improvement relative to the former product when spending 30,000$ vice 65$. I really hope people can grasp that.
Anyway, not sure I understand the point of the thread either. Is the OP asking for reasons why he should by it, or looking to prove a point on why he thinks it's not changed enough? The point seems to flip flop based on the response.
I would say whether or not it's improved enough to warrant another purchase is entirely personal. Meaning it depends on what you value.
I for one, can't imagine playing 08 over 09 when I know 09 will have a deeper franchise (much deeper), more customized commentary which will only serve to bring the game new life, and the lighting progression. That's not even getting into gameplay tweaks/fixes that will undoubtedly make the game "new" in terms of playability. Less frustrating occurances=better overall experience.
I'm a huge franchise player though, so franchise alone was enough to sell me. As I said, each person is different. I don't understand the debate to be honest. Either you want to buy it or you don't. If I was uncertain, I certainly wouldn't let people I only "know" in the most casual of senses change my mind. I would say rent and see. That's me though.
