It's the crew chief on Woody's crew. I'm not sure his name, but he makes Woody look awesome by comparison. This guy is calling sliders under the knees strikes...I want him to BIH.

Very impressed. This is the only game I have on PS3 and it will be a keeper for sure. I haven't really enjoyed video game baseball like this since maybe MLB 2k5. :o I enjoyed The Show 08 but 09 is a lot better IMO. I'm addicted to this! It is nicely done.

Can anyone tell me how to fire my pitching coach in franchise mode? I can't figure it out.

Unfortunately you have to wait until the season is over.
Pick a day on the schedule and you will have the choice to hire/fire coaching staff.

There is no way to do anything with the farm director(bug)

Another little thing I noticed, I was playing as the Cards going up against the Padres in San Diego...when Khalil Greene came up to bat, the crowd cheered him and he gave a little salute.

freaking crazy, the little details like that!

Rudy--I don't think any one level is that much harder than the rest. I think if you can tweak your offensive sliders, you would be happy on HOF or Legend. I can tell you that on legend default, there are errors, bobbles, high pitch counts...all good stuff. I would imagine HOF is similar. Like I said, just tweak the sliders so you have your offense and the rest should be good.

The animations in the OF and the lazy throws are really pissing me off.<o></o>

                    . . .

I agree that SCEA has taken to much control away from the player and given it to the cpu. I wish they had an option for Auto/Assist/Manual with manual dumping all the canned animations when fielding. Let me go field it myself and determine if i hard charge and gun the ball, or make a slow stroll and lazy throw!<o></o>
Not even that, the crow hops to bustle a runner out at the plate in this game are dreadful. They are the standard ones where you take a hop off your throwing side foot, then land on it again to throw. Instead, they should be the ones where you're in a run, hop forward off your glove side foot, then land on the other foot and fire, perhaps even taking a roll after your throw.

If you play baseball, I'm sure you know what I mean. There are two different kinds of crow hops, one designed more so for overall power on your throw and the other designed for quickness to get the ball in. This game fails to have an animation designed for the latter.

EDIT: This is a really stupid video (no, this isn't me or my friends) that I just found on YouTube, but this is a [shameful] example of the crow hop that this game is missing:

I guess I am not the first one, who thinks this, but...

I hate to see that the clipping iusses are still there. Don't get me wrong, the cut scenes an animations a smooth and fluent and look awsome, but somehow this destroys the nearly perfect image you have of The Show. OK, they don't effect the gameplay (except for the comebackers that go right through the pitcher), but it gets "annoying" by the time, though the rest of the game is flawless.

I just hit a walk off grand slam in my spring training finale to beat the Mets 9-6. I trailed all game and was down 6-1 going into the 6th where I scored a run, I scored 3 in the 7th and then scored on a grand slam by Joe Mather.(I love this kid....305avg, 4 homers, and 16 ribbies this spring)

I love this game. The only negative I have is I didn't save the game because my dog was all worked up over something and I went to take care of him and didn't think about saving the replay when I came back.

Now its on to the regular season....

You played through the entire spring training? I don't think I have ever attempted to do that, besides extra practice does your team gain anything from it?

Yes I did. And I don't think my team gained anything. I played thru it mostly due to chasing some of the bugs/glitches that people were finding and to also get my hitting/pitching skills up to a comfortable level. I struck out only 7 times total in my last 5 games combined so I have the speed of pitches pretty much down pat.

Hey guys. I didnt wanna start a new thread. Whats the difference between Franchise and Season? Is Season basically franchise without the ticket prices, financial stuff, concessions, etc? Can you play multiple seasons in Season?
