Legend mode is fantastic! In 08, I always found hitting too easy. Now, it's a real battle. The great pitchers are beasts to play against. Intense! Just had a game where I only got 5 hits, and it was a blast. SCEA really nailed the hitting engine.

Defense matters! I actually plan to insert late inning defensive replacements when I start my franchise. Glove guys can really go pick it, and some guys (I'm looking at you, Josh Fields) hurt you in the field. The fact that all fly balls don't hang in the air forever puts a premium on good outfielders.

I'm getting KILLED on the mound. This is super-hard. Mistakes get killed. Gonna have to practice.

I'm sure that in time, I'll have some ideas for what could be done in '10. But for now, I'm just loving this game. What a great job SCEA did. Kudos!

This is EXACTLY how we felt in San Diego at the event.
If you weren't focused.....it was going to cost you.
You HAD to think a few batters ahead...even innings. Forget to get the matchup you wanted ready....and it could kill you.
When your pitcher is gassed....he will get rocked...better have you bullpen going when necessary.
Games this year are battles...and they are tense.

Yes...there are transportation...vendors....stadium seating prices and such. They are all good with the exception of transportation IMO. It is poorly handled....okay I'll be even more honest....the transportation situation in this game is a bit ridiculous. They start you with a team bus...you have to borrow SICK amounts of money for a plane...the bus doesn't really matter except for stamina I think(slight boost when you upgrade)...but it just bugs me

Yes...there is a paper that gives you the "scoop" on...It's just one page each really..
1. Your MLB club....just little tidbits..
2. Your 2 minor league clubs...small article..but it's a good way to get a read on some of those guys when they get a mention
3. One spotlight(each day) on a different team each day...it's random according to what's happening it looks like.

Yes...you have goals
When your contract is up.....you will get an offer from your club(or not) and you may actually get several offers from different clubs around the league.
At San Diego.....I was simming a Mets franchise....my contract came up..and Detroit offered me 4 years..(it breaks down the team records and such I think)....I took it!

There is...but I don't think it has a substantial impact.
It's MORAL on the player card.
It's something I think SCEA should expand on for sure...

I think manage only mode is gaining a little in popularity as a nice alternative to playing every game. It's a nice strategy mode that really makes you rely on player attributes...hunches...and they are talking about adding some new things for 2010(Brian was at the community day)...I hope the new additions make it in...it sounded good!

This will be my first purchase of The Show, so I'm not up on all of the details. Is MOM a season mode or a franchise mode?

Did that back in the day when they didn't have saved stats. Hardball for the Genesis. Kept stats for every one of my players. It was blast. It took about 3 hr to play game, but it was worth it.

thanks for taking the time to answer the questions.....with regard to the newspaper, if there was a major trade that happened for a CPU controlled team, would it pop up on the newspaper...is their any shots of the outside of the stadium or something special about each stadium shown?

Totally. I think I'm gonna wait to start a franchise til your rosters come out and just play exhibitions so I don't get killed.
