finally got the game , does pitch speed seem faster in the retail version to you guys, it does to me and i like it, i find i'm not so early all the time.

I felt it was. I was always early in the demo and looked ugly. My timing was much better on the final product.

Question, when they come out with updates/patches...do they fix things on ballparks or no?

Well just looking at Citi Field when I played there last night.

A) it seems as if the walls in reality will actually be green

B) they only have one bullpen in right-center

C) an area for retired nos. (which I don't even think is up yet in reality)

I'm not complaining at all. The game is absolutely unreal in every sense. I was just curious if they do things like this as season moves along. Particularly since Citi Field and new Yankee Stadium are not entirely complete yet.

The game is solid. It is different from last year. Graphics are crisp and sharper. The stadiums are eye opening nice. I feel like they are heading in the right direction, upgrading things year by year...

There are legends in FA pool they are there in case people want to use them. They disappear when you start a franchise and are not used.
What issue are you having moving players? I moved a couple from AAA to major and vice versa with no issues.

Yeah, the Legend thing. Sort of annoying, but like you say, they disappear when you start franchise. I guess they put them there if you wanted to swap out your entire team with the Legends and play a season with them.

We wanted the 40 man roster and we got it. It's different than last year and I told everyone that, even me a roster accuracy nutso, it would be a little cumbersome at first to get used to, but it works. It's almost set up exactly the way ASB was.

I am absolutely loving this game play.

I really want to like this game, but I cant for the life of me hit the damn ball. The camera view is a little too high and every single pitch looks like a strike. There is no possible way to tell if it is high or low. Yes, I know this is real baseball, but its not fun if you can never hit the dang ball. Even watching youtube videos and such, everyone just swings three times and hopefully hits the ball one of those three times. I also dont understand why they cant have a pitcher cam online. That adds so much when you can use that view against another person.

I know it's my eyes but when using offset I start to struggle in/out.. lol

However I have gotten tons better hitting and thats using the Wide camera. 2 things I started concentrating on:
1: I keep my thumb high off the controller to give me that extra 1/2 second delay because with thumb right on X I was constantly pulling pitches foul. Totally opposite of last year.
2: I make sure I watch the ball come out of the pitchers hand. More times than not I can tell by the release, if the ball is going to start low in strike zone. Then I try and gauge the speed to determine if it will stay flat or drop lower for a ball.
Obviously you have to be quick deciding but it's been better so far.

That's the beauty of offset! It really compounds the lefty/righty batter/pitcher matchups because of the inside outside view.

Nothing like getting caught looking on an inside curve because you thought it was going to hit ya!

Sorry man, I started to make a post but then my battery died.

Anyway, my guess is we're not going to get a stadium update like that, but honestly I think that posts like this that I'm making light a fire under SCEA's butt even more to just prove me wrong that they can do exactly that, and thus would. That's the kind of developing team that you're dealing with here, and that's the kind of devotion they have to making their community happy.

So it wouldn't be impossible to get the things like this that you said (the jerseys probably not), but then again changing the color of the wall probably isn't as easy as using the Magic Wand tool and changing the hues. Maybe a developer could step in and answer this for sure.

Anyway, most patch updates address things through coding, not cosmetic changes. That doesn't mean that stuff can't be done.

At least a couple of you agree with me about the hitting. I haven't tried offset camera yet though. in my opinion every pitch looks exactly the same until its too late. I love all the small attention to detail but I really like the hitting camera better in 2k9. I'm sure some of it has to do with the slower pitch speed but it just is much easier to judge balls and strikes. I know I can adjust the pitch speed but only play online so that doesn't help. Any other batting tips or do others feel the same way?

Well I bought the game last night & played a few games & the tweaks they made to the hitting makes this game incredibly fun. That was my main concern about last year & having hitting being too easy & too many hits going up the middle but not this year. Its challenging & its as real as it gets.
