Mike and Houtz it is a video game it will have its problems. But once you play it you will be so engrossed in the game play that you will forget all these little bugs. Any ways I am sure they will fix most of them. They did a good job last year.

I have 1st and 3rd several times and ground into a double play without the run counting.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I am kind of a "perfectionist" when it comes to my sports games so that is why hearing about all these bugs are pissing me off.
I dream of a day wear Sony can release a baseball game with 99% no bugs!Comment

Yep tell me about it
I don't even have the game yet and with reading about all these bugs I have since lost some of my hype for the game
Will we ever get a MLB The Show game thats 99% bug free??????
And I also was really looking forward to playing online this year but it sounds like there are still big time lag issues!!
Very Disappointed about these bugs!

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
This is why it is CRITICAL that everything about these "bugs" is mentioned. There may be a variable going into the equation that wasn't thought of before. Think of bug fixing as a science experiment. If someone comes out and says "I found this great new compound that will produce energy without consuming it", it is meaningless unless the exact details of their experiment are detailed and others can reproduce it. Yes, the original experimenter may have gotten results that made it seem like they produced free energy, but there could have been another variable in their experiment that they didn't know about which led to these results.
The common thing you ALWAYS here in bug-threads is "I can't believe they didn't catch this one", or "This one should have been found during testing." If the SCEA devs had millions of people to bug-test the game for 24 hours a day in an uncontrolled environment, then yes, those statements might be true. The truth is, they have a very limited number of bug-testers and only a small period of time. Plus, they all do their testing in a controlled enivronment where all variables are known. This way, things that may not have seemed like they would impact the game (the setup of the systems, configurations, etc.) might end up playing a role.
I am not really surprised at all with this thread or the items found in it. I was expecting it. As stated, SCEA is releasing a patch at the end of the week and this is likely to correct many bugs which were found in the minutes before the game was finalized, but weren't large enough to warrant a delayed release. (And since the bugs mentioned in this thread haven't been reproduced 100% of the time, they aren't "game killers" like everyone always wants to say when it happens to them).
So again. I'll just reiterate, when reporting a bug post EVERYTHING about the bug. Game setup, teams, stadiums, innings, uniforms, PS3 settings, etc. It will REALLY help the Devs in finding the bugs and "squashing" them.Comment

And how many bugs does a game have to be less than to be 99% bug free?I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
It's sometimes best to avoid threads like this. I've read very little of it, by choice. Why read it and get all depressed? The truth is...some people will never even see 80% of the bugs people post here. Jim tried to reproduce the *bunting on top of the plate and all fielders freeze* bug, but was unable to do so.
So I'd really suggest you stop getting your undies in a bunch, and wait until you actually play the game before rating it a '1'.It's only a video game.Comment

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
This thread just happens to show some of the rare 1% issues. It appears that most of the people who have the game are only experiencing these bugs once, maybe twice out of quite a few games played. I could be wrong.
MLB the show 08 had it's share of bugs. After playing the demo, I really expect these bugs to be very rare. I can't wait for this game!"I am more valuable to my team hitting .330 than swinging for home runs." - Roberto Clemente

What kind of double play was it? If the force was made at first and the tag at second, the run counts if it crossed before the second out was made.Comment

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
I understand your players not moving, but even in a real game that is scored a single. You can't use discretion when considering a fielder's mentality on a play.
Speaking of which, I noticed some improper selection of fielders at times leading balls to drop when they shouldn't, normally the foul balls. I think the game does the following: it takes the fly ball and says "if there wasn't any wind, here's where the ball would have landed and here's who would have been closest to it," then the wind gets calculated into where the ball will land and shows up, but we're still stuck with that initial fielder. Normally they are close enough to get a play, but you're often times not expecting to control one guy over the other for a second before you find out that you're going the wrong way.Comment
