You are correct. I didn't really take SAC flys into account. Technically, although unlikely, you can have a lower OBP than batting average.

Its all about the journey. My guy is a utility AA player in the Rays system. He is a Catcher /1b player and we don't have a 1b player on the roster. So I start about 2 games per series. anyway I start off cold batting .189 and then get Hot. After I am batting .296 I ask the Skip to switch to 1base.

Skip thinks our defense is stronger backing up our current C. I'm pissed but what ever is best for the team... The starting catcher gets hurt and I get 3 games to prove my stuff right ??? I go a cool 1-10...LOL the other catcher is back but I am the starting DH. I didn't notice it then but it appears that my hot hitting streak came against the worst teams in the league and my wake up call came against the top teams. I LOVE this mode !!!

I love that they've made it harder. I have more trouble keeping my pitches in the zone, and my location doesn't always hit the spot I want (sometimes greatly off). I really need to grow my player and make him better to notice the changes.

I'm still doing pretty well in AA, but I find myself on the edge. I throw a lot of pitches and give up hits, so I'm constantly at the risk of giving up a big inning.

            What's up Rob-

I like following your RTTS player, I'll be posting up some figures from my guy in the upcoming week...

What difficulty level do you use? And do you keep the sliders at default?

I'm getting destroyed in my RTTS. Started off as a C/3B for the Jays. Had a terrible spring (although I was getting pretty good in the last week) and I simply collected points without spending them throughout. I knew I wasn't making the majors out of ST so I just collected them. I'm sucking right now in AA for the Fisher Cats, playing as the starting 3B and backup catcher. I think my average is .241, on Veteran, and I have 10 K's, because I have huge trouble pinpointing where a ball is heading. Playing with guess pitch but no feedback. No HRs yet (except one in BP) and I'm in the third week. This game got way harder this year...

Thanks, always nice to hear that people are following. I play on default All-Star. It's a big jump for me because last year I played on Veteran. I can't wait to read about your guy. RTTS is so much fun, but I hope the Lineup issues are fixed soon. I want to run a franchise and fix the Orioles. If they offer me in the off-season even if they low ball me I will take it.

From the looks of it, Jim & Knight see the light! I think they are very close to a solution...

started another player building him into a power hitter, 1B drafted by stros in 2nd month playing sparingly even though im rated better than the other player, its really been hard to develop been asking for more playing time but its falling on deaf ears

i think if it continues im going to ask to be traded

So I havent had much time to play this game since I got it so I started my RTTS today and I made a 3rd baseman and got drafted by the whitesox. and my first two Hits in ST have both been homers!! kinda fluked out I guess.

Glad to see I'm not the only one strugling on veteran. Last year's version was definitely easier.

Tore up one year in AA, then a great half season in AAA before getting called up to the big team. Had a so-so half season and then started the next year on the Big Club. All for the Giants org.

This season, only 3 games in with the White Sox in Spring and I had a streak of 5 strikouts in 6 ABs. Got chewed out by the coach 3 times already after striking out (Yikes!). I can't pick up, yet alone hit, a stinking curve to save my life!!! So right now I'm 2-14 with one of those being a drag-bunt single. lol

Have to get used to fielding now too.

Stealing is the same way. In '08, I had myself with decent, speed and though stealing was challenging, it could be done with relative ease. I think I had about a 70-80% success rate. Now, I tried practice mode with Randy Winn and I think I stole 1 base in 20 tries.

One gripe with RTTS, I'm a lefty and my player card shows a right handed hitter! This happened in '08 as well!

Couple shots of my player getting congratulated after a 3 run homer.

Also another shot of my SP in the Baltimore system. My first start, second year.
