Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Can someone help me? I'm a speedy Center fielder and I got drafted by the A's. The only problem: I don't get nearly enough playing time to fulfill my goals, or stop my attributes from decreasing. I asked for a trade and got one to the orioles but it is no different. Is there anything I can do?Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I'm into May 2011 of my third year as a Reds SP. I'm the 5th starter with Volquez, Cueto, Arroyo, Harang. Now in the majors this team is exactly the same as 2009. They only lost Rosales(now starting for the Padres), Homer Bailey(retired due to injury) and Willy Tavares(Atlanta). 2009 they went 79-82 and 2010 they went 83-78. So far this year 16-15. Guess I'm stuck on a .500 club. They're bullpen has over 5.00era and is 2-12. Starters have around a 3.50era and 14-3. The craziest thing I've seen this year is the Yankees have an All-Star at every position and are 31-2 with a 14 game lead on Boston. Team Average is .378 and ERA 1.92. Glad I don't face them. Their starters are C Mauer, 1b Texiera, 2b Cano, SS Jeter, 3b Rodriguez, LF Holiday, CF Ichiro, RF Crawford. Rotation Sabathia, Chamberlain, Halladay, Cain, and Haren.Comment

Thats sick! Alot of people have mentioned that their RTTS team actually goes really young or stays the same....and I have seen other teams like the Yanks in both franchise and RTTS stack up on every big tyme FA. Not sure how this happens, but it does. I think next year the RTTS should try to stack ur own team, but not at your position. That just wouldn't be fair, LoL!I'm into May 2011 of my third year as a Reds SP. I'm the 5th starter with Volquez, Cueto, Arroyo, Harang. Now in the majors this team is exactly the same as 2009. Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I've played 1.5 seasons and yesterday for the first time as I was batting I saw a red flashing circle around the pitcher's glove, before he made the pitch. Any idea what it means? Didn't seem like anything special happened. I hadn't recently changed any settings so it was a surprise for something new to happen.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Yes, they definitely do. Vision is good stat as it enlarges your batting PCI and consequently allows you to foul off a lot of pitches AND get a little better contact on pitches you hit.
The one thing I know that Discipline does is it will force a check swing sometimes when you swing at pitches outside of the zone. I'll sometimes be completely fooled and swing at a pitch and it will check my swing (even though I didn't tap the button). I'm still not sure if it helps the 1st base/3rd base ump's decision (i.e. successfully check your swing). The jury's still out on that.
Of the two, Vision seemed to help me more as it's easier to hit the ball with a bigger PCI.
I still think Power is the best hitting stat but Vision and Contact are probably in a tie for 2nd best with Discipline a bit more behind.Last edited by Mekias; 06-18-2009, 06:02 PM.Comment

Yeah there's some ugly uniforms out there. If you end up on the Astros sometime, you'll see the horrid ones they used to wear every day.Life in the big leagues is tough. Guys definitely hit better up here. LOL. Well we're wearing are fatigues today. As much as I love the Army theme for some reason these uniforms are just ugly. I guess because in the Army when we played sports we never wore BDUs. Maybe the pants but never the shirt. Strictly PT gear or personal stuff.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Teams definitely make interesting moves. In my pitcher's RTTS, the Yankees ended up with Manny, and once Jeter retired, they replaced him with Theriot. My Astros traded away Oswalt for someone, and a few days later traded that someone for Halladay. Oh and they traded for Joe Nathan too, so at least if I make it to the 8th with a small lead, that's mostly safe. Other interesting moves, Ichiro to the Rays, Ortiz to Atlanta. I don't remember most of them because lots have retired now (ortiz, manny, pujols, and vlad all retired the same year, Pujols because of injury though).Thats sick! I don't need to see those things again. I think my retina is already damaged from looking at them when they wore them for real back in the day on TV. Good thing I lived in NY and was a Yankee fan and didn't have to see them on the regular.

THOSE LOW DOWN DIRTY MOFOS
Well check this out. I'm rolling along in the bigs helping the Padres get a shot at the playoffs. Go into my next start with a 5-2 record. Doing pretty good work up there. So my next start I'm on a roll. Got them popping up, striking out while get the run support. 7th inning I got them shutout so far. Get into a little bit of trouble but work my way out. 8th inning I put'em down 1 2 3. Still got the shutout going. 9th inning I get the first batter out. Just 2 more to go. But , uh oh, I walk the hot hitter. Ok I can recover. Next batter I get to pop up. Wish it could have been a double play grounder but ok just one out away from the complete game shutout. HE HITS!! But it's a grounder! I get the complete game shutout. Player of the game and 505 nice juicy training points. Things are great up here in the Big Leagues.
Well so how do I get rewarded! I GET FREAKING OPTIONED BACK DOWN TO AAA ball. WTF IS THAT!?!?!?!?!? I just pitched the game of my life and I get sent back cause some chump came off the dl who's probably gonna stink up the joint?!?!?!?
Of course I went to interactions to see my recourses. I want outta here NOW!!!! But obviously I don't have the time in to make such demands from the looks of things. That "RETIRE: RIDE OFF INTO THE SUNSET" was looking mighty tempting. This stinks. I can't believe they did me like that. I'm at least better than the 5th guy in almost all regards. WHAT GIVES?!?!?!?!??Comment

Number one misconcception about RTTS: People think that stats>ratings. It is, in fact, the other way around. Your ratings and goals determine if you play, not stats.Well check this out.
