I was playing Angels at Yankees and when Bobby Abreu went to hit, the crowd just went nuts as they cheered for him acknowledging his work in the years he played in New York. That was pretty neat.

Okay I got another one. Bengie Molina was blocking a pitch in the dirt, then they should a cut scene where Matt said something like "Well it hit Bengie is not the best of spots, the umpire will give him some time to walk it off". Now I will let you figure out where it hit, but it was crazy.

pressed pause to make some substitutions and in the background you can still hear random stuff. The P.A announcer said they want to thank the (I think he said some country band?) band for performing the national anthem and the crowd booed! LOL

I hit a sharp grounder to Jose Reyes and the ball takes a bad bounce and just about takes his head off. The ball ends up in the outfield. One of the announcers says it'll be interesting to whether it's ruled a hit or an error. It was correctly ruled a hit.

hmmmmm I wonder who he's talking about
Unfortunately, it seems the game doesn't always have the wind blowing in from right (or at least not enough of the time). If it were like that, yeah... people would be throwing a ****-storm of not being able to hit anything out of there at right field.

I just want people to admire the frustration of hitting it out of right field as it really is, and that Bonds and Howard are the only two people that I've ever seen crush it over the 421 sign there. Yes, people have hit it in the Cove, but not many. I could find and assemble a list, but it's really a small few. Even the lefties at the Home Run Derby never hit it in the water.

I guess I need to add a "Little Thing" to balance this post out. Here is Bob Melvin going out on a ball that I made a diving catch on that he thought was trapped, and the second base umpire didn't want any part of it:

The thing is, looking back at the replay, there is a second sound as if it hit the ground, so I really think the ball was trapped!

I'll be posting it as a video in the Pictures/Videos thread.

Not sure if this was mentioned, but last night I laid down a bunt with Brett Gardner, it was riding the line and just went foul and Ty Wigginton pushed it to make sure it stayed foul. That's an incredible "little thing" of baseball.

Billy Butler just smoked a foul ball along the right field fan seating and I swear that I saw someone wave to the camera.......so I replayed it and sure enough a woman raises her hand up as the ball passes and waves at the camera! Incredible.

Seen my first bad hop this year. Ball was smoked in front of Kelly Johnson bounced and hit him in the chest. Ball then went out to the outfield. Last year this would have been a fielded ball for an out. Great job SCEA

Maybe the game will be like MVP 2005 where you can smoke balls off the pitchers face, and catch it off the bounce with an infielder for an out, with the pitcher feeling no ill effects.

I accidentally thew a 1 - 0 curveball a little to far into Jack Cust and brushed him off the plate. The next pitch was a fastball mid-away and he jacked it to the 400 foot wall in Oakland for a flyout. Next was a cut scene with Cust exchanging words with John Lackey in anger as he was running back to the dugout. Hudler said it probably had to do with the brushback pitch, which is awesome!

I wonder if there will be retaliation coming back for me next inning.

                        EDIT: No retaliation.

I waved at a curve in the dirt for strike three and the ball skipped away so I could head to first. The catcher started running back to the backstop (with emphasis to the first base side) and couldn't find the ball, when the ball was skipping over toward the first base dugout. He finally found it and picked it up, but that time my player made it to first.

It was just cool how he actually didn't know where it was for a second!

As for the game, I can say it was the most heart-breaking game for me in all my years of playing The Show. I basically cruised thru the whole game, taking a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the 9th. Armando Galarraga pitched 7.1 scoreless innings for my Tigers. He gave up his 4th hit (a double), so I took him out as he was approaching 90 pitches. I brought in Freddy Dolsi from the pen and he struck out the final 2 batters in the inning. Bottom of the 8th, I kept Dolsi in and he struck out the side with a walk in between. I warm up my closer Brandon Lyon as we go to bat in the top of the 9th... Bottom of the 9th, I actually brought up the quick menu to bring Lyon in, but I figured Dolsi was cruising so I exited out and started pitching. First 2 batters were retired pretty easy, on a grounder and pop out. Then I started getting pinched on my calls at the plate, and walked the next 2 batters. Kinsler is due up next, having struck out 3x already, I pitch to him with Dolsi. After 4 pitches the count is 1-2... the pitch... a badly placed 4SFB that Kinsler deposits just into the crowd in RF for a WALK-OFF 3-RUN HOMER!!! (I was hoping like hell it bounced high off the wall...lol)

If I ever once felt like crying, I think that was the closest. I was distraught after watching the Rangers celebrate at the plate. Oh yeah, I cussed up a storm too . I didn't blame it on that new "cheese engine" that the one guy was talking about tho. It was really my fault for trying to squeeze out an extra at-bat from my reliever. I definitely had the "hindsight is 20/20" feeling from that game. The loss was disheartning, but the overall feel and experience from the game was intense/realistic/hectic/beautiful or whatever word you would use to describe what makes the game of baseball so great. In other words, I lost, but the experience was definitely a winning one.

Ok, I'm getting long winded like you Blzer...lol j/k. So many little things... The Show!

Edit: to add insult to injury, I was that close to getting the "Shut 'em Out" trophy too! Grrrrr!

LOL they flashed back to the middle of the 7th inning and Hudler "sang" the National Anthem. It showed cut scenes of the players stopping their warmups and looking up into the booth, disgusted at the terrible singing.
