Playing the All Star Game yesterday in my KC Royals fantasy drafted franchise, and I'm loving what they did. A lot of specific commentary for the All Star Game. I love playing the game and getting the full presentation, though recently I've been impatient and playing on fast play and with music mode on, but I made sure to soak in everything the All Star Game presentation had to offer and I was not disappointed. Very nice. Can't wait to play the playoffs. You better believe I'm going to get that full effect then too!

Pretty much every football player does that.Kind of like a football player that sticks the football in front of where he landed after being tackled. Not only does the referee know that you placed it forward, but they may incorrectly place it too far back because you were being dishonest about the ball placement or they can't correctly get the original spot.Comment

For the SECOND Time in the Post Season
I've had a batter hit a shot to the mound..and instead of the opposing pitcher fielding it, or having the ball go onto the outfield...the ball actually HITS the pitching rubber and ricochets back to the catcher/backstop

Still doesn't get old to see the pregame scene where a fight is about to break out.
My player is "talking" to the opposing player, then my teammate has to step in between both and hold my player back.
Cool stuff, esp. when it happens between rivals. (I.e. it happened between CLE v. DET)

Isn't everybody completely amazed how you can play this game for so long, and yet it still surprises you?
I've played this game most days since it came out, and I'm still hearing and seeing things I never have before.
In my Marlins franchise, I hit a ball off the centre field wall in Milwaukee with Chase Utley, and Johnny Damon was already on second base. As it was touch-and-go if it was going to drop or be caught, Damon was reluctant to start on his way to third.
As a result, he only got to third despite Utley pulling into second with a double.
Rex Hudler said something along the lines of: "Now I don't understand this, the guy hits a double and you don't score from second?! If I was the manager, you'd be tasting a heavy dose of pine for that!"
Now while it was a little harsh given the situation, I'd never ever heard this line before.
Also, not sure whether or not it has been posted before, but also against Milwaukee, Craig Counsell gets a base hit, and Rex said this: "By rights, Counsell shouldn't be able to hit the ball at all with that stance of his, but he comes through here anyway" something like that anyway.Supporting Leeds United, Colorado Rockies, Detroit Lions and the Colorado Avalanche!

Re: ***Official "It's The Little Things..." Thread***
I was playing the other night with my rookie first baseman on the A's and he took a huge cut at a pitch and his bat went flying way down the third base line. He stood there and watched it fly..even leaned a little like he was trying to see if it was going to hit someone. Luckily in Oakland there's a huge amount of foul territory, so it just landed and rolled around by the bullpen. I couldn't stop giggling. I had to save the replay for my boys to watch later.Comment

I think the beauty of incidents like that in MLB 09 is that you can play the game for months and possibly never see it. Some games would have it in once a game, but in this game you may never see it in an entire 162 game season and the playoffs.I was playing the other night with my rookie first baseman on the A's and he took a huge cut at a pitch and his bat went flying way down the third base line. On the never heard that before...Playing with my rookie RF, got a base hit to load the bases. The pitcher throws a strike then 3 balls, so he's facing bases loaded 2 out and a 3-1 count. The booth starts talking and one of them says something like "he feels like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs, there's danger everywhere!" Man I thought I had heard them all, but not that one. This game is amazing.
