It's definitely more difficult. But as someone who played HOF in the past, I am getting great results on default all-star with pitch speed turned down.

Have to see how it goes, but that's what I am seeing so far.

This for sure, I was always on HOF in the past and I thought it was kind of easy..This year I bumped down to All-star and it's just about perfect so far, and it's good to know two levels are left if I get to be to good for AS.

My games on the demo vary. The majority of my games I end up losing like 1-0. I am starting to be able to string together hits, but HR are rare and I usually Double Play. My best game on the demo was when I hit a walkoff HR with Ryan Howard. Man that was great. I scored 6 runs that game.

I'd say the hitting is dead on this year. Been playing default Legend level and the games I've played the results have been very realistic. Face a teams #1 starter and you're not going to get alot of solid hits. I will say though, I'm glad the batting cage is available for practice. Been in there quite a bit.

I absolutely LOVE the hitting engine in this game. Last year was too easy even on HOF mode and different people's sliders.

As mentioned I'm so glad a thread like this popped up. Now offline modes won't bore me to death this year.

Hitting is much more difficult this year. I've been playing on HoF with the CPU consistently beating me (I'm the Yanks and lost against the Royals and the Orioles). I'm gonna try All-Star now.

It is tougher but the community as a whole asked for it and we got it!

I think the hitting is right where it should be as far as difficulty is concerned.

It definitely is. In RTTS, I started at Allstar and couldnt get anything off the ground. Now I play at Veteran mode (something unthinkable in 08) and I still have a lot of problems.

A lot of the times its my fault, swinging at stuff outside the zone. But when I do get strong, solid contact ... it ends up being a an easy pickup for the 2B/SS.

I suppose I can't expect a lot of slugging power when I'm in my first 2 months of my 18 year old RTTS character. His power is in the 40s, so I got to bump that up.

Here is what the pause menu in the game describes what each difficulty means

Rookie= Very easy

Veteran= easy

Allstar= normal

Hall of fame= hard

Legend= very hard

I am very glad the hitting is harder. One of the reasons I grew sour on 08 was because I thought the game was to easy.

Anyone who has 09 agreeing on this? I used to play All Star then HOF in 08, but in 09 im stuck in veteran with sliders favouring me to get better hits and im getting shut out, I dont strike out just everything I hit is nothing, Ive played 6 Spring Training games and havent had one bomb yet not one....

Sure u can say I suck but really though this is kind of annoying,
anyone having similar experience?

I'm having a hell of a time trying to get consistent at hitting in 09.

That's not necessarily a bad thing though. I know that practice, after all, makes perfect.

Im new to ps3 and the show, so Im starting on rookie and adjusted sliders to get more realistic outcomes. Its working great so far and having lots of fun. I'll step up the difficulty soon.

I played a quick match and lost 5-3 and played my first season exhibition game and lost 12-0 on all-star difficulty. It seems like a good difficulty level for me.
