Re: PSP Version Impressions
Could some of you please give me some tips with striking the cpu out...pitch placement, types of pitches which work best..setups, etc...is there a slider which makes them swing more frequently at stuff as well?
Also, for someone new to the series, what's the best type of batting to use to ensure that my poer guys hit for power and my average guys hit for avg...I want simulation type stats...so far through seven games, I only have hit one home run..and I'm using a team with three hitters who have 30+ homers!! I stink...
This is for the psp 09 version.Comment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
I think the slider you may be looking for is the Timing slider. It won't make them swing more frequently, but it will throw off their timing.
As far as pitching tips, it's all about changing speeds. Make them think you're doing one thing, then do another. For example, you may set them up with a fastball at the letters, and when they are locked in on fastball speed, hit them with a curveball at the knees. You might also pound a hitter inside with fastballs only to give him so breaking balls away. One sequence that has always worked well for me is a couple of fastballs, could be low or high, preferably high, then a change-up that drops just below the bottom of the zone.A screaming comes across the sky...Comment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
Even though I have the PS3 version, I [/i]might[/i] go get this for PSP as well. I got a nice little surprise in the mail today when I got a check for my free lance writing (get one every two weeks). I thought it was only going to be about $30-$60, but it was $120.
edit - I do have a question about the PSP version. I had 07' for both the PS2 and PSP and noticed that when I created a SP for the Indians in RTTS on the PSP version, they would send me to AAA, skipping AA entirely (tried some other teams and this wasn't the case for every team). Now for me, a BIG part of the fun of RTTS is the journey, from the bottom rung all the way up. So has anyone seen anything like this? Your RTTS player bypassing AA altogether? I really don't want todo that again.Last edited by metal134; 03-06-2009, 11:07 PM.A screaming comes across the sky...Comment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
Yeah, I read that review. Doesn't really mention anything about the pitching or the batting, which is the core of the gameplay. Plus, it says that there is no franchise, so you can only play one season unless you are playing RTTS, which from what I understand is not true (season mode is basically a multi-season franchise mode). So basically, I discounted everything the review said after that.Comment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
Yea that review is coming from someone who probably didn't put much time into last year or this years version.
The biggest change from last year to this year is the addition of Legend mode. Did he even mention that in the review? I didn't see him talk one about the much improved difficulty.Comment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
They should be. SCEA sent out a message yesterday saying the PS2/PSP rosters were working. I have the PS2 version and the rosters are indeed working, so I'd venture to guess the PSP ones are as well.Currently Playing:

Re: PSP Version Impressions
I read this review when it came out, what a pathetic review he doesn't mention anything important about the game and he gives the graphics a 7, LOL my review is better then his, what a jokeone review is up, i like to go to the metacritic site when there are 20-30 reviews up...a lot of them crop up from lesser known sites but I find the reviews to be quite nice

Edit.. This guy doesn't even know the season spans many years, scrap this review!!! What an idiot, this review loses all credibility.
