Re: PSP Version Impressions
Hey there, all.
I have a more general impression question based upon the hardware. Does anyone care to comment on how game feels on the PSP 2000 and PSP 3000. The reason I ask is that I just purchased the 3000. I have not unboxed it yet (fortunately?). I happened to find the info about the scan line issue on the 3000 after I had already purchased it. I was at Best Buy today and saw that they still have a bunch of 2000's left and about $10 less than the 3000. Not that the $10 matters that much to me... but it comes down more to the ghosting on the 2000 or the scan lines on the 3000. Does it even really matter? I haven't even seen one to compare with the other so it may be a non-issue. So, does anyone care to comment on the hardware differences?
Thanks.

Re: PSP Version Impressions
LOL I remember when I heard about this issue, This was just an overblown statement by a bunch of nerds, the only way you will see these scanlines is if you hold it up to your face and really search for them, There not not noticeable at all. Get the psp 3000, I have a silver one and it's really nice, it's brighter, has a mic and the colors are way more vibrant.Hey there, all.

Not to mention it was only noticeable on older games. New ones have the proper refresh to take in the fact of the newer screens.
Which people thought newer versions of the 3000 fixed the issue, but it wasn't that, it was the fact that most of the games are tuned to the new screen now.
I would go with the 3000, much better screen colors wise. And I am thinking of getting a 3000 as well to upgrade from the 2000.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
Thanks for your responses, guys. Its good to hear that the 3000 shouldn't be a problem. I was so excited to get it. And being busy around the house this weekend, I just haven't had the chance to get to look at it yet. With the stuff that I read, I was concerned that I had made a bad purchase decision. Thanks for helping to renew my excitement. Can you believe that I have both the PSP and MLB 09 sitting in a bag, waiting for me to open them up?!?! CRA - Z!
Anyway, its nice to join in on the SCEA discussions. I am a 360 owner. And formerly a PS2 owner. I loved MLB The Show for PS2. But when I went next gen, I was forced into either MVP or 2K_. I really enjoyed MVP for couple of years it existed. Then came three seasons of hell with 2K and the worst coming this year. Before I dropped $60 on it (after reading the horrible reviews), I traded in some games, paid the difference, and got myself a PSP- specifically for MLB 09.
I'm on board and can't wait!
Thanks again,

OT, Jeter... I see that you are Kentucky guy? I went to the UK/UF hoops game yesterday. It was a very entertaining game. Can you believe that there was not a single free throw in the first half??!?!Comment

Well open them up now!!! You got a psp at the right time, I too bought my psp specifically for mlb 09 the show, and there's actually an amazing library of psp games coming this year too, so great purchase. And unfortunately being a Kentucky fan I watched that game too, I'm sure it was an amzzing atmosphere it always is between us rivals, I'm not exactly happy aboutt he kentucky season right now. Thanks for your responses, guys. Re: PSP Version Impressions
Glad to know I am not the only one. The question now is why?
It is still there in the PS3 version. Unless you have the strike zone display on, you now don't have anyway on knowing when you have guessed the type of pitch correctly, only location.
Makes no sense.Comment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
Jeter-
I hope to open it all tonight and get playing. If not tonight, definitely tomorrow.
So, dude, if your location is correct, you are in GNV TOO? How did you end up a Wildcat in Gator Country with a Yankee userid? : )
Yea, I know... I am one to say anything. I have a Buckeyes userid and I'm in Gator Country. Let's just say it has been a difficult last few years for me. But I am from Central NY... so I have a 'thing' for the Pinstripes, also.
Thanks again for the PSP 411...

Re: PSP Version Impressions
Haha yep it's different, I was born in New York and have been a Yankees fans since I was born, and when I moved to Kentucky when I was about 4 I became a diehard Kentucky fan along with my dad who was born and raised in Kentucky. I am blessed to have seen 5 Yankees World series victories, and two Kentucky Wildcats national championships.Jeter-

Re: PSP Version Impressions
Went ahead and picked this up to compliment the PS3 version... VERY well done for a handheld title.
I do wish they could get the umps in there somehow though... not a huge deal.
I think I'll run my RTTS on here and my Franchise on PS3.Comment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
When they can get franchise intergation between the ps3 and psp it will be awesome, that will be the perfect complement to this already stellar game.Comment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
Yeah, and hearing the encouraging comments on the podcast last week, where they said the PSP is reaching the level of the PS3 as far as communication and features, I cant wait.
