    Re: PSP Version Impressions

Nemisis, sliders would be appreciated when you have time.

I have found one aspect of the 09 PSP game to be very frustrating.

When I am on the road and the home team is in White and it is in the day time. I just can not see the ball at all. It is nearly unplayable. I just can not track the ball at all in this condition.

As well I am seeing some similar OF fielding problems from the 07 version of the game that were not in the 08 version at all. They seem late to react to hard hit one hoppers and I have had about 5 go right past the OF to the wall for a stand up triple. These type hits are clearly a hard hit line drive single that the fielder is not reacting to.

Has anyone else seen these two troubling aspects.

THere are many things I love about 09 but these two have popped up on me already.

    Thanks in advence

I think you can adjust the brightness setting in the game or turn the brightness of the screen down a notch or two.

But yeah, I agree that day games on PSP can be a pain; I had the same problem in 08.

        Re: PSP Version Impressions

i love the agem, but one thing that makes me wish i had a ps3 is simply the fact of the new practice modes in mlb09,

i NEEDED a batting practice in 08 when i had my ps3, i just couldn;t bat to save my life. but now i have sold the ps3 and sony have decided to put in lots of nice modes that would have allowed me to love mlb so much, i probably wouldn;t have sold the console.

i cant justify rebuying as i have a trip i have to go on in august, but man its making me annoyed that the psp version doesn't have a batting practice (home rund erby obviously doesn;t count as that is a totally different style of gameplay to a real game)

other than that i would say its great, pretty much the same stellar game deep down, but no doubt the ps3 version is worth all that money

should i get ichiro or dustin pedroia for my indians season?i already sined manny, and if i cant get both of these guys,i have to decide on one as this is the only way to stay competitive with the bronx bombers!I was also thinking of maybe chipper(hes a beast at hitting)

just think of a team with, sizmore, pedria, manny, victor, ichiro

i mean,i would have three all star out fielders!2 of them with some gold gloves!

          thanks for the help

oh and i dont mind trading young talent or draft picks

            Re: PSP Version Impressions

IGN only gave it a 7.5. Not the best review. Did say that legend mode made batting more difficult (thank god) but didn't go much into details about legend mode at all, which in my opinion was the only addition to this game that I cared about.

I'm not quite sure why it got such a low score. I mean if you compare a game on the PSP to a console game, then of course the scores will be lower, but compared to other games on the PSP, I have a hard time imagining how this game could only be a 7.5.

Then again, I've yet to receive my copy in the mail, so I'll find out for myself later this week (I hope).

Reviews for sports games are almost meaningless. The reviewers are generally looking for a completely different experience than most of the folks here and trying to cater to a casual audience. These reviewers couldn't care less about the ability to replicate perfect or near-perfect stats.

People shouldn't pay too much attention to critics reviews, He pretty much copy and pasted it anyway, and he gave the graphics a 7.0 even though they are clearly much improved, Seriously most of these guys that review these games are too busy watching anime porn and playing Final Fantasy.

Just picked up the PSP version and quick question, how do you save your settings? I have my jukebox set up with the songs I want, but I don;t see a way to save it. When I turned my system off before, I had to redo it up booting up again.

You have to create a profile and save it to that.

What level are you playing on that you are able to "replicate perfect or near-perfect stats"? Is this on legend mode?

I'm playing on HOF. But I haven't played enough to say definitively that the stats are perfect or even near perfect, but the early results are encouraging.

I think dbtechno's review was a good score a 9.0 is great, I'd probably give it a 8.8 or 9, It's a joke some of these reviewers compare the psp version to the ps3 version, well no **** the ps3 version is better, the psp is it's own system, I just want it to be linked in it's own group. I don't know what IGN is smoking but everything is better this year, graphics are definitely a noticeable upgrade, and most importantly the gameplay is almost flawless. playing with Nats I'm 0-2 to start the season, nothing has felt cheap, everything feels just right.
