Hopefully the roster updates will be up and working soon. Till then, I'm slaving away in exhibition games, tweaking some sliders. Figure I can at least get sliders the way I want them before I start a franchise. I'm confident SCEA will resolve the roster update issue soon.

I am doing the same thing. Just can't get myself to start a franchise without the rosters being right. The way I see it, SCEA fixed the PS3 rosters in one day so here's to hoping the PSP and PS2 users get the same prompt response.Hopefully the roster updates will be up and working soon. Re: PS2 Impressions thread
I have the fat boy from PS2 release day and I'm not having any issues. Never have.Uh-oh. I have a fat boy and after reading your posts am getting nervous. Last year my 08 copy would get to the load screen and freeze. Never put 2 and 2 together - I thought it was just a bad disc. How much do slims go for?
I did get the game yesterday. I only had enough time for a few innings. The game booted up just fine and I didn't have any issues with graphics. Then again, I'm a veteran of High Heat, so Atari 2600 style graphics would probably have me raving! Can't wait to get into this starting tomorrow night.
Thank you all for your impressions. I am enjoying all your posts and can't wait to post a few of my own!

Re: PS2 Impressions thread
The frame rate issues I have isn't extreme and its only noticeable when the ball is put into play but I definitely notice it. Its good to hear most people aren't having this problem though.
Has anyone seen any errors on the legend difficulty? I havent seen one yet.Comment

Re: PS2 Impressions thread
I, too, have a large PS2. Got it the first year PS2 was released and she is still kicking just fine. Also, I am not seeing how people have said that the game looks bad on HDTV's. I am playing on a 46" Samsung and have also played on an old school boob tube and they both look the same to me...Comment

Yeah, I don't think it looks terrible on my HD - I haven't tried it on a STV because I don't have one hooked up.I, too, have a large PS2. Re: PS2 Impressions thread
Can someone who has 09 compare it to 08? I only rented 08, so I don't have a lot of experience with it, but from what I played, I liked it. Just wondering what you guys feel are the big differences (both positives and negatives) between the two? (PS2 version only of course)Comment

Re: PS2 Impressions thread
I am pretty confident it won't take long.
bsb, no I haven't seen any errors yet aside from a couple of throwing errors. I have seen OF drop balls while trying to make catches on the run, but they have all been ruled hits, which I would agree with as they were tough plays to make.Currently Playing:

Re: PS2 Impressions thread
I have a fat PS2 that is about eight years old and haven't had any framerate problems with '09. Also it looks like they fixed the freezing problem '08 had during the post game wrap up in RTTS. That error frustrated me to no end in last years version.Comment

Re: PS2 Impressions thread
The *only* thing I'm disappointed to see is that the problem is still there of line drives bouncing and going right through your outfielders if you take a certain angle to the ball. You have to like wait back for the ball to get to you. That's been happening for three years now though, so...Comment

Re: PS2 Impressions thread
Well, I picked up the game yesterday and have played 5 full games (1 spirng training and 4 reg season). They have definatively made a few improvements to the overall gameplay. There are errors this year. I had 2 throwing errors in my last game one by the 2b and 1 by the Pitcher. It does seem easier to pull the ball this year. I saw a few screaming liners pulled right down the line which you would have never seen last year. I'm playing on HOF diff. with default sliders. I am still finding it hard to draw walks, I have 2 walks in 4 games. I might try and adjust the CPU strike frequency slider to see if that helps. Overall the game plays very similar to last year, with a few noticeable upgrades. I love that there is a quick menu now when you are pitching so you can go to the bullpen or make dif. alignments. Just tap L2 before you pitch to bring up the menu. One thing that isn't there that I was hoping for are in game saves
. They keep the HR derby though, but removed King of the Diamonds which I didn't play much anyway. I'm not a big fan of the way they set up the 40 man rosters. It's impossible to tell now what players are on which team (MLB, AAA, AA). I also which you could put players on Injury reserve. For instance I wanted to put Dustin McGowan on IR since he won't be playing until at least May, but there is no option for this, so I simply tried to send him to AAA but it said he had no minor league options left and would have to clear waivers. So I tried this and we was claimed immediately. Is there anyway to fix this??

Re: PS2 Impressions thread
I dont know about The Show 09, but I went back to 08 last night and must say that it is so much better than 2k9 (360) even with the last gen graphics.
Sad thing is that I can't get the Show 09 around here because none of the stores have ordered it.
