    Re: The Comeback AI thread

FWIW, the idea of the comeback ability being driven by the clutch rating is one that I CAN get behind, unlike the theory that necessitated this thread. I too would like to know how it really works. Good info.

(Figured I could post in the thread if I keep it civil like that, if not, mods please delete)

      CPU Comeback Off:

Yes, I played with CPU Comeback Off before those games (the first picture is an example of a random game with CPU Comeback Off) and I only got blow outs in Veteran Difficulty (on All-Star, even though I was batting good, the CPU came back on every game to make my leads 4 or less or turned the game around).

      CPU Comeback On:

The other 2 pictures are from games with CPU Comeback On, which show that although they came back in my first game with Comeback On, maybe it could be attributed to a bad pitch, which is why I need to play more games before reaching conclusions. But also, the second game shows that a blowout is possible on All-Star, as I was able to go 8.1 innings with Burnett and my reliever came in and closed the deal.

I only play with Comeback AI OFF and I can guarantee that there's no Comeback AI reversal glitch. Usually when I lose, it's because the CPU either tricked me or I got lazy. It's not because the AI arbitrally decided to score runs off of me.

          Re: The Comeback AI thread

Announcement: Mariano Rivera finally gets an S besides his name, instead of his usual BS!

          His sequence:
          1. Ground out to 3B
          2. Allowed a 2B
          3. Pop out to 2B
          4. Fly out to LF

When he allowed the double I said "here it comes again" because I've noticed that most comebacks happen with a rally-starting double. But he had a good outing, as that double was his only error.

As the save indicates, the game was close (5-2) and the CPU did come back (game was 3-0 and they scored 2 in the 6th to make it 3-2) but I can't expect the CPU to not score at all or it wouldn't be baseball. What tells me this wasn't one of those strange comebacks was because they never tied the game.

As I've said before, I'm testing how the game plays out on All-Star with CPU CB On.

I play on HOF with sliders tweaked somewhat to make it more realistic. All I can say is that with comeback OFF through 20 games, the cpu kept coming back and it was so ridiculously unrealistic. I switched to comeback ON and the game has been phenomenally realistic over the past 30 or so games. Now I have the full spectrum: blowouts, comebacks, close games both ways, games where I get 3 hits, games where I get 15 hits, etc. Every possible scenario. I'm keeping comeback ON.

This is a perfect example as to why this thread exists. Thank you Steve for opening this thread.

And thank you, Dave, as I believe it was you who first suggested switching to comeback ON. You saved the game for me.

Hey guys, I usually troll this board, but I need to vent:

It puzzles me how anyone can say, straight faced, there is no problem with the CPU team coming back.
It is terribly frustrating that I can't hold a 5-0 lead in the 8th in LA against the Rockies, who have a .220 BA in my Veteran difficulty franchise.
I can't win even when saving the game in the 8th (5-2 score, no outs at the point of the save) and replaying three times with different pitchers.
SCEA doesn't have to officially acknowledge the problem (which, apparently, it won't), but tomorrow's patch had better fix it, even if it's an unannounced fix.
As great as this game is through the first six or seven innings, it doesn't justify the frustration at the end. I'm about done with this game entirely.

Uh, threads not supposed to go this direction. There are tons of us with a "straight face "that can say it.

Mine's slightly crooked, so I guess I'm in the clear either way.

For the most part, this thread has remained civil and informative (whether we all agree with the implications of the info or not), so it's sad when people have to express their views in such a way.

                        Oh well.

I'm reading the thread and giving gamers who have a problem real workable solutions via PM because we can't post here. Just trying to keep it on track.

Gonna watch Boston and NYY in HI DEF in a bit!

To clarify for other people (I'm assuming you got me, Jim) I was commenting on the person above's comment's not yours.

I'm watching the game too, of course...this series has been giving me heartburn thus far. Typical craziness...lol.

Anyway, back to the thread (sorry guys!).

Quick question. Well I have been experiencing this as well but call me crazy, but where do I find this option at? I was looking for it last night and didn't find it.
