I'm pretty sure I told people several pages back not to get their hopes up, and that we'd be seeing alot of disappointed folks. SCEA does this every year. No one, not a single person, should be surprised by their lack of action to fix the problems. It's been happening since the Big Freeze of 2006.

i get u, but last year i was so glad with the patch....
it evan had new stances(manny, howard) and they also fixed the hidden stances/deliveries issue...
now this year i checked that too, and the hidden deliveries still hidden...boomer.

what do you mean by this? Are you saying that there are no injuries when roster control is set to on?

That should be correct. When roster control is on there should be no injuries.

some folks can't go buy a new controller to correct this issue. it was not in the game for the last several years. this is an instance for them trying to correct cpu lineup logic and then breaking the cpu roster cotrol, or so it appears.

I agree jpup completely. It worked great last year. I am just trying to point out the workaround (which isn't ideal either I guess due to fatigue popping in according to another poster). It is not ideal, but we have to make the best of it.

New controllers aren't that much money anyway, jpup. Maybe get one used or something. It doesn't hurt to have around anyway in case someone wants to play against you offline. Even when I was a poor college student, I could have scraped enough together to buy one if it meant that much to me. But, I understand it is a bad economy.

But, yea, I guess the guy living in the basement the other poster referred to may not. :wink:

It worked for me last year, but I will confirm right here that there are NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO injuries....

Ha, just kidding, thanks for the insight. Thats what i figured. WIth Roster Control "ON" there are no injuries (but apparently you can now set and keep lineups). With it "Off" you get injuries, but lineups are now all fubared.

I like to have correct rosters, and a lot of others here do too, and I know rosters change, but Helton is not a leadoff hitter. It's not a game killer to me, the actual gameplay is most important, and that is the best part of this game. Some things probably are just not patchable, or maybe the whole technique for setting liineups would have to be rewritten which is probably not feasable. This game is still the best. If Helton bats leadoff, I'll deal with it, it's not the worst thing that could happen.

For realistic guys like me...its IS a killer. I want my batting order correct. It affects how teams play. What a total total disappointment.

No, you know that's not it. I see the wink. But, he made a statement about rosters that was incorrect. I have been talking about CPU roster control ON lineups, NOT with it off. Plus, guys like Helton aren't going to lead off either way. He just comes in, doesn't read the thread, tells us we live in our parent's basement, etc. He didn't handle it with any maturity at all, am I wrong?

It has nothing to do with not talking about gameplay (which I don't have a real problem with anyway).

I know, I know...lol. It's all in good fun. I was actually of to bed (weird schedule this week) until I saw Russell dropped by and said the list was coming. No I sit here waiting...again.

No worries here. If there's a viable workaround to Roster Control, I'm stoked. I really wasn't expecting much but the most important (from a stability standpoint) fixes to be in. Stuff like online function, gameplay freezes, file corruption, etc.

To me (and I know plenty will disagree) the rest is just gravy.

In the on-screen message, it made reference to being able to text easier and a couple of related topics, but it said NOTHING about a fix/patch for this game.

You sound like you downloaded the PS3 system update, which if you were behind, is required before you can go online and download anything else.

Put the game in and you should get prompted to download the actual MLB patch.

I use the Marlins for my franchise and never see any framerate issues at Dolphin Stadium......that's weird.

I haven't seen any specific frame rate problems associated with any stadium specifically. Yankee stadium plays smooth for me.

I have noticed though, that there's framerate problems in ANY stadium once you get 2 runners on base at the same time. There's slight stuttering during pitching, and when the ball is initially hit.

the screen says:

then my screen goes blank

and the new message is:

Yes, read my previous post and my thread, and you can work around most of the lineup issues with CPU roster control ON.

You can also use 2 controllers if you enter the game from simmanager, just enter before anything happens. The rosters will stay as you set them. I just put Francoeur ahead of Kotchman, and it stuck once I entered the game. You can also use 1 controller if you just want to fix one team, if you don't care about the other team.

Yeah it's wonky but I'm in the same boat as a couple others in that my franchise is my own little MLB universe. I don't mind if the CPU puts Helton leading off or anything like that. But I won't flame control freaks on that because I'm sure for those guys it sucks to have to work around.
