What game mode did the bug happen in?
'Online' Exhibition (tried it offline, but this seems to only happen online.)

How did it happen or what did you do to trigger it? Can you recreate it?
When I attempt to hit & run, my batter will not swing at the ball. Sometimes, the animation of the swing will happen, but the ball will never be hit. If the pitch is a strike, the announcer will say that is was a called strike, and the slo-mo replay will show that the bat never left my shoulders. This is true even if I power swing (meaning it wasn't just a check swing).

This makes it impossible to hit & run, and very dangerous to steal with two strikes, as I won't be able to swing should the pitch come flying through the zone.
I have had many instances where I swung at ball four, but found myself trotting down to first base. Also, as I was trying to swing at a pitch while stealing, only to miss even though it was right down the middle, I would have to hear Matt say that it was a "called strike three".

How often can the bug be reproduced?

Getting clarification on this one those rosters aren't supposed to be there anymore. The roster vault should have been wiped clean because the patch won't work retroactively for this issue.

Maybe that's why SportsConnect is down...all of the rosters in the vault are being deleted.

i thought that was a nice new feature, meaning evan with auto baserunning we could call for a hit and run, wich wont be able now...
another thing about the DH fatigue problem, it has not been fixed...

Yup. Quite frankly, my biggest concern by far was the lack of fielding errors. The DH fatigue was also a minor beef. The fact that both of those were probably ignored and they took the ability to steal manually out of auto baserunning makes this patch a negative to me. Why not actually let us override the cpu base running at ALL times when we choosing auto baserunning? That's what I really wanted, not the reverse. Why can't we have an in between base running control system like MVP 05? I won't even bother with the patch now.

I'm not really surprised about the lack of patch fixes. Last year's patch didn't do much either and still didn't fix the slider issues or the stat overlays that I was looking forward to. And being perfectly honest, the 2K baseball team released two patches in a shorter time frame and had a ton of changes. Why couldn't the Show team fix known issues that people wanted fixed? Not fixing a known glitch like the DH fatigue, which seems simple to fix, is a head scratcher to me.

The Show is a great game but the patch support has been historically bad. This isn't a game killer for me but I am disappointed. Oh well.

i don't mind. i can move my arms, not my fingers.

i lay down, on my bed or reclined chair. place the controller on my chest (since i cant "hold" the controller with my fingers/hands, my chest holds it in place)... then i use my fingertips to play, activate buttons, etc...

all done with Zero Finger Movement (which is my motto btw)... fyi, broke my neck and became paralyzed playing football in high school.

It's so tragic to see injuries like that happen. My uncle was hit by a drunk driver 35 years ago and had his life ruined but he could still walk. Hopefully efforts by the Miami foundation will find a cure for paralysis in the near future. I know they have always said it's only a matter of "when" and not "if". All the best to you in the future.

Since you don't spend your money will nilly, shouldn't you have waited until after the patch was released before you bought the game?

After years and years of sports games being released with bugs and all of the conversation on the board about the issues in this game, there is no excuse for a person on the board to buy this game assuming all of the bugs and glitches would be fixed (especially if they are game killers to you). I have never seen a sports game patched where every problem was taken care.

Its not that easy. I put up $400 for a PS3 just so I could play this game. Most of the writings on this board were claiming it to be the greatest game of all time. I thoroughly read through the forums, but not until I bought the game did I really understand what problems the historical stat glitch would cause me. Some people don't even care about it.

Even with that glitch, it was still worth the money IMO. But everyone is different. I've been on the board for 7 years or so now. Some people would trust my opinion when I tell them this game is the best baseball game they ever played. But they'd be seriously upset if the DH glitch or the lineup glitch was a game killer to them.

Even with its problems though, I don't see how someone wouldn't get multiple hours of entertainment out of this game. How much? Well thats subjective.

But on the flip side, its too bad when a game comes this close to perfection that they didn't get that final small portion correct. Because in the video game industry games can mysteriously get worse from year to year. No guarantee that 2010 won't be worse than 09 or have more issues. Just look at EA football. Some issues never get addressed.

It would be a shame if the lineup glitch never got addressed.

What were the problems with the NL West scheduling? Too many day games? I was just wondering, I've been playing as the Dodgers and didn't really notice a huge problem.

Not 100%. The fact that Russell said they removed it in his post makes me feel like it is. Until that's cleared up, I won't bother with the patch. Maybe someone can test it to see if it's true.

Please.... You act like this game is broken or unplayable. It's still the best sports game, even with the issues.

i suppose i have a right to be disappointed, right? all consumers have a right to complain about a faulty/broken good to the manufacturer. the manufacturer posts here. where else should we complain if not here?

There is no lineup glitch.
Sorry, but if we have any chance of it being addressed...we've gotta at least refer to it correctly.
I'm not trying to be picky....but the lineup logic is what it is...like it or not...the problem is the CPU ROSTER CONTROL not sticking in games.
