    re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**

I wanted to replace Julio Lugo (.187 BA through 25 games...) and get a very good SS

    So:

First i traded Wakefield (i just can't pitch with his knuckle :/) and RP brad Penny to the Astros for SP Roy Oswalt and RP Clay Heasly
Then traded Oswalt and Lugo for Hanley Ramirez and SP A. Sanchez

    So my lineup is:

    1 - Ellsbury
    2 - Pedroia
    3 - Ramirez
    4 - Youk
    5 - Big Papy
    6 - Bay
    7 - Lowell
    8 - Drew
    9 - Varitek

I'm the Cubs. I traded SP Ted Lilly, 1B Micah Hoffpauir, and 3B Ryan Freel to the Royals for 2B/UTIL Mark Teahen, 1B Eric Hosmer (B potential), and SP Mike Montgomery (B potential).

I think both teams got pieces to help. I couldn't pitch with Lilly to save my life, but now he's already KC's third best pitcher. Hoffpauir has struggled for me, so hopefully he can figure it out with the Royals. And Freel - I had no use for him. With all of the second basemen I carry, there was no use for him.

Teahen is going to be my "everything" guy. He can play first, second, third, left, and right. Hosmer is 19 and left handed, so maybe I can develop him into possibly my next first basemen after Lee. Montgomery is 4-0 with a 1.82 ERA and is in AA, so just stocking up in the minors.

        I'm happy about this trade.

            re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**

I have 3 questions for everyone.

            1. I am approching the trade deadline ( july 24) and there have been no big trades yet, do they all happen on the last day? I have had about 10 or so trades in my franchise, not all made by me, they have been really minor trades.I have made 3 small trades myself.

            2. I am looking to to trade for Randy Johnson, the Giants are 16.5 games out and will practically give him to me, I can send Reed Johnson( Cubs) straight up for him, I will probably throw in a minor leaue pitcher too, does anyone who has played more than 1 season know if Randy Johnson retires in season 2?

            3. Ted Lilly for Nate McClouth straight up, Fair?

As the Tigers, I got Randy Johnson from the Giants about a week before the trade deadline, for Dontrelle Willis (I threw in a prospect, just to make it a bit more fair).

Then, 2 days before the deadline, I lost Carlos Guillen for the rest of the season. I then traded Armando Galarraga, Marcus Thames, and a prospect to Oakland for Matt Holliday.

Only trade I have made so far was SS Orlando Cabrera and SP Dana Eveland to the Chicago Cubs for two promising future prospects. My Athletics system is stacked with young talent, and in the trade I got someone who will probably replace Jason Giambi as my best power hitter.

Just lost Derrek Lee for 1-2 months about 4 days before the Deadline, Traded Ted Lilly, Reed Johnson and a B potential SS to the Pirates for Nate Mclouth and Carlos Guillen( Pittsburgh had traded Ian Snell for him in May)

                    1) Big trades happen whenever. I had big deals go down in May, some in June, and some right at the deadline. Its completely random.

                    2) Retirements are random. Randy Johnson retired after my 2nd season. A buddy of mine just finished his first year and Randy retired.

                    3) EDIT: Trade already occured.

Great thread guys... alright I am in need of some advice. X. Nady is slumping in my Yankees franchise with .190 avg and hitting just 7 HR in June. In fact, my whole team is going through a bit of a power outage. I want to make a realistic trade but I really want Josh Hamilton. Any suggestions on how to do this without taking too much advantage? Or any suggestions on a better OF replacement for Nady???
