re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
In my Diamondbacks franchise, we got off to a pretty rough start (8-25) and the Cubs were looking for a 2nd baseman and closer so I traded Felipe Lopez and Chad Qualls to Chicago for reliever Carlos Marmol.
I called up Ruben Gotay from Triple-A Reno to take Lopez's place and Marmol has three saves for me since coming over.Comment

I made 4 trades on my cards franchise so far. But the best ones were
Traded Adam Wranright to the twins for Francisco Liriano. Liriano is 16-2 with 2.31 era. He is a beast great player at least in the game.
Traded Colby Rasmus, Todd Wellemeyer to the Paders for Chase Headley and Mark Prior.Comment

I traded for Colby. I am the Padres. That's why I cheated. Although, Chris has had a nice few years for the Cards since the trade and I just dealt Colby, Jose Vallejo and Jorge De La Rosa for an A potential 1b and an A potential P. Colby did a nice job for me, but after a few years he became my MVP in the truest sense of the words and thus had to be dealt for prospects.
Irl? I have him on my fantasy team, but it can go either way with him-- stud or huge bust. It looks like the former right now.Comment

Both of those players i traded were doing terrible for me, I play every game..on my season. I just could not get hits with Rasmus or pitch well with Wellemeyer. Prior has been great and so has Headley. I check often on Rasmus and his stats for the Paders are terrible this year. Maybe he takes some time but in my game he is a bust so far. I am 71-42 so i have played most of the season. Maybe some other people have had luck with Rasmus.Comment

I have a question for you that carries over from the previous thread about Manny...is your philosophy trade the guy once he has a great season?I traded for Colby. I am the Padres. re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
I used to be an Expos fan. I got used to looking for what was next. I thought it was exciting and challenging to let Larry Walker leave and call up some kid named Vladi. I try to win with a small payroll and young guys. I like moving names for prospects.
I guess in the game it's because everyone knows who Chris Young is and what he can do and it doesn't require much evaluation. I like the evaluation part.
I wouldn't trade for Manny in the game. I'd rather have Clayton Kershaw or, better yet, Ethan Martin. If I was the Dodgers, I'd tell myself I'd keep Manny and since he is also 37 I might, but I'd probably deal him in the 1st or 2nd year.Comment

Yeah, that's funny, in the few games I played I could not get many hits with him either. I think it was his stance or something. And even though his value kept rising and his overall was increasing, his stats were never great.
But he was 25 when I dealt him tonight, so I'm sure he'll get it right.Comment

re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
that's weird cause in all the franchises I had to start and restart Jurrjens has always been a beast. ALWAYS!!!
Anyway,
white sox, me, get Eric Chavez
Athletics get bartolo colon and some AA shmuck.
Colon has been crap and he fills the whole screen so I can't even see where I'm throwing the ball...Comment

Made my second trade:Playing as the Pirates:
Pirates get: Bill Hall
Brewers get: Matt Capps and Eric Hinske
I saw that Hall was on the block and that the Brewers were looking for a closer. My hitting was so bad, I rarely got to Capps so I made a move. Hall is great because I can slide him in at third, short, second, or any of the outfield positions, and get some pop.
Pirates get: Carlos Marmol
Cubs get: Jack Wilson, B potential starting pitcher, and B potential third base prospect.Comment
