Re: Strategy for completing multiple franchise years

It would really be nice if The Show ADDED an IMPORT FRANCHISE Option to their baseball games this way you could take your time and play out one season at a time without the fear of ..."Oh no, I havent even made thru one single season of my franchise yet and the next version of the Show is coming out soon!"

without the ability to import your franchise progress from a previous version of the game kind of makes the whole concept of franchise mode rather pointless and a never ending nightmare circle of deja vu that just keeps resetting itself with each new version of the game you get. There's no sense of continuity, development, history and progress this way.

I myself dont like to just rush thru a season so I can make sure I get my money's worth out of franchise mode before the next version comes out. I'd much rather the ability to take advantage of each new version's ADDED features each year while still being able to continue my existing franchise I've put time in and grown attached to over the seasons.....but that's probably just me. Im sure most people like restarting their franchises over each year

With that said, I usually just play one full game of a series and usually sim a few innings and jump in an play late in the game the rest of a series. I have no real pattern. Sometimes the non interesting games, I'll just completely sim thru the entire series and sometimes I'll just play out a key matchup of 2 other teams in the league that I know are pivotal games or bitter rivals. (Bosox vs Yanks) or The Phillies having a key 3 game series for 1st place against the Braves. Playing like that lets me completely enjoy my entire franchise more from a commissioner perspective rather than just a single team's owner or manager.

It feels more sandbox to me and thats what I love about it. The Show is great in that sense that it allows you the ability to play the game all these different ways!

I just wish they would add an IMPORT FRANCHISE Mode and add an ALMANAC or Stats section you can view your franchises progress from season to season in a centralized section of the game

I just started a franchise and plan on playing every 3rd game....so 54 games or so as someone already brought up. You still have an impact on the season but can make it through faster. I'm guessing if things are tight the last month or so i might play every game.

This helps with my training also...before every 3rd game i'm changing my training for players. Not sure if this is ideal.

I know it's possible....and it wouldn't hinder sales at all.....it actually might increase them.
I'm all for anything that gives us as the user, more options in franchise modes.

I hope they come up with something to help us get through long seasons. I like what EA did with the dynamic season in Live to help get through a 82 game season.

          Atlanta Braves
          - Auburn Tigers - Nashville Predators

Re: How to finish a franchise

A couple good ways, depending on how much you wanna play. You can play the first game, or one game of every series. This allows you to play at least once against every team.

Another option is playing every sixth game. Play on opening day with your first starting pitcher, then sim the next 5 games. Then play another game and it should be your second starter. You can get through your season pretty quickly this way. Another thing you can do if you would like, is if a starting pitcher gets hurt and you put a new guy in your rotation, you can make his first start and then do the 5 game simming and then play a game from there.

It all depends on whatever floats your boat man!!

            Good luck!!

And as Cardsleadtheway would say : the most important is to play with YOUR team, the one you support. This way you better accept the up & downs of a season!

I play the 1st game of every series. This way I get to use the SP evenly, its a nice way to rotate throught the staff. When I am rebuilding I will sim the rest of the season when I think its realistic that I am out of a shot at the post season. I use the Indians so I rebuild every 3 to 4 years since I can't keep up with the payroll. This make rebuilding easier to handle for me so I can motor through it. I never play a 2 game series either. I use sportscast manager to sim the games. The cpu really messes up my bull pen. How the use the RP's make no sense and I never have a good year without using it. I normally completely sim the 1st year of a rebuilding process also.

I play 5 and then Sim 5. If I am out of the running then I sim to the next offseason.

I use the system Cnelly posted above until the All star game. After the all star game, I play all games w/in my division & games against division leaders. Sim against other teams. If my team is 10 games back or more by september I revert back to the pre all star system.

Still takes a while to complete season, but I like the mix because I play on Veteran/slow pitch speed, so I can still get sim stats to counteract the easy settings.

I usually start out the season by playing most of the 1st month then I sim some games depending on how well my team is doing. If i get on a roll winning I might sim some till i start losing then i go back to playing untill All star break. After the all star game I will play a few games and sim until middle of August. If I am in chase mode i will play the majority of my games. If I am out of the playoff race i will sim the rest of the season. I use the REDS and always play the Cubs and Cards no matter what my record is.

I know I am a big history buff, so I enjoy all the past season rosters...I have always wanted to play a franchise but just never have started one. I enjoy playing mostly every game, I enjoy the ups and downs of a season and maybe for next years game will start a franchise. I do agree that it would be nice to have the capablity to import franchises from previous years.

Instead of playing every sixth game, I play every third game. I usually miss a two game series or so but otherwise get to play at least 1 game per season. Equal starts for my starters, play 54 total games, generally 27 home and 27 away. Works well for me!

Just like I play NBA2K11 and NHL2011 (I am still playing Show 2009 in my third season with the Yankees) I play all games the first month of the season then play all key divisional series and inter-league series. Sim the rest using sportcast. I get in about 70 games. Takes me about 8-9 months to finish each season and off season with my sports game rotations. You also get plenty of longevity out of your games this way and no need to buy every new update (unless it is just rally a huge upgrade).
