without the ability to import your franchise progress from a previous version of the game kind of makes the whole concept of franchise mode rather pointless and a never ending nightmare circle of deja vu that just keeps resetting itself with each new version of the game you get. There's no sense of continuity, development, history and progress this way.

I myself dont like to just rush thru a season so I can make sure I get my money's worth out of franchise mode before the next version comes out. I'd much rather the ability to take advantage of each new version's ADDED features each year while still being able to continue my existing franchise I've put time in and grown attached to over the seasons.....but that's probably just me. Im sure most people like restarting their franchises over each year

With that said, I usually just play one full game of a series and usually sim a few innings and jump in an play late in the game the rest of a series. I have no real pattern. Sometimes the non interesting games, I'll just completely sim thru the entire series and sometimes I'll just play out a key matchup of 2 other teams in the league that I know are pivotal games or bitter rivals. (Bosox vs Yanks) or The Phillies having a key 3 game series for 1st place against the Braves. Playing like that lets me completely enjoy my entire franchise more from a commissioner perspective rather than just a single team's owner or manager.

It feels more sandbox to me and thats what I love about it. The Show is great in that sense that it allows you the ability to play the game all these different ways!

I just wish they would add an IMPORT FRANCHISE Mode and add an ALMANAC or Stats section you can view your franchises progress from season to season in a centralized section of the game
    This would be unbelievably unbelievable.

Re: Strategy for completing multiple franchise years

I play the Show since 09 ! This Game was the reasaon why I sold my box and brought a PS3.
09: Start with the Yankees and choose C.C for playing games and sim the other games, come close to All-Star break but that was it. Because I´m a huge baseball fan but I have no team just love the sport and every team has something which keep my eye on it.
10: Try to play multiple Franchises and take user controll on one division, so I have 6 season but I couldn´t enjoy the game it was horrible and I always hav the pressure to finish multiple seasons

plan for 11: take control over all teams ! in every aspect ! I plan to play one game of each series. start with the al east and chose the best game and play with the team who´s pitcher I like more, then next series same stragey with nl east, then al central and so on ...

I hope that I finish 5 season with this .... but I´m a bit afraid that some teams will draw the short straw and that I will finish my 5 year plan to early

      maybe some ideas ?

I enter the game and sim to the 7th. If it's a close game I play it out. If it's not the I'll sim a half inning at a time and intervene accordingly.

edit: Also, I make sure I play every team on my schedule at least once.

Helps me get through seasons, I usually still play about 115 games or so.
Like both these ideas. Right now using the play 1, sim second, ? 3rd system in MLB 2K11 (360 only user). Thanks for this thread.

I've began to play the games that Felix and Pineda (Mariners) pitch, along with Grienke and Gallardo (Brewers). This way, I get to play with my two favorite franchises and cut my season down by 60%.

I'm doing the EXACT SAME THING with the Mariners. It's been a blast so far; all Analog controls and All-Star difficulty across the board. Seattle's offense is weak, but the pitching by King Felix and Pineda keep me in most games.

You wind up playing 4 out of every 10 games on the schedule; I just started this Franchise a few days ago and I'm already 15 games in.

I do notice that for simming, you need to drop the injury slider, otherwise you will see your starters go down; I've had 2 starting infielders break their arms already.

Re: Strategy for completing multiple franchise years

i play every game. this is the first year i'm doing it, but it's the most fun i've ever had in a sports game. my Mariners team eerily mirrors the real life squad, including the recent hot streak.

however, this plan most likely has me skipping MLB '12 or at least delaying it so i can get some real time in. i only play on avg one game per day, but some days i'll play up to 4.

                  DJ,
I use the pure Default sliders when simming. This gives the most realistic results, since its based on the A.I. ability and not user-skilled based. I've been wavering between pitching types. I'm a Zone hitter at heart and love the Analog pitching but I feel I get more realistic results/pitch types with Meter or Classic.
