Re: Strategy for completing multiple franchise years
I play the Show since 09 ! This Game was the reasaon why I sold my box and brought a PS3.
09: Start with the Yankees and choose C.C for playing games and sim the other games, come close to All-Star break but that was it. Because I´m a huge baseball fan but I have no team just love the sport and every team has something which keep my eye on it.
10: Try to play multiple Franchises and take user controll on one division, so I have 6 season but I couldn´t enjoy the game it was horrible and I always hav the pressure to finish multiple seasons
plan for 11: take control over all teams ! in every aspect ! I plan to play one game of each series. start with the al east and chose the best game and play with the team who´s pitcher I like more, then next series same stragey with nl east, then al central and so on ...
I hope that I finish 5 season with this .... but I´m a bit afraid that some teams will draw the short straw and that I will finish my 5 year plan to early
maybe some ideas?

Re: Actually progressing in franchise mode.
This is what I do as well. However, I play the first 10 games of the season to get some nice base stats going then I start skipping 4 at a time. Also, I do not actually skip the games. I enter the game and sim to the 7th. If it's a close game I play it out. If it's not the I'll sim a half inning at a time and intervene accordingly.
edit: Also, I make sure I play every team on my schedule at least once.Comment

Re: Strategy for completing multiple franchise years
I've began to play the games that Felix and Pineda (Mariners) pitch, along with Grienke and Gallardo (Brewers). This way, I get to play with my two favorite franchises and cut my season down by 60%.Brewers | Golden Eagles | Packers | Bucks | Badgers | Fulham FC

Re: Strategy for completing multiple franchise years
You wind up playing 4 out of every 10 games on the schedule; I just started this Franchise a few days ago and I'm already 15 games in.
I do notice that for simming, you need to drop the injury slider, otherwise you will see your starters go down; I've had 2 starting infielders break their arms already.Currently Playing:

Re: Strategy for completing multiple franchise years
i play every game. this is the first year i'm doing it, but it's the most fun i've ever had in a sports game. my Mariners team eerily mirrors the real life squad, including the recent hot streak.
however, this plan most likely has me skipping MLB '12 or at least delaying it so i can get some real time in. i only play on avg one game per day, but some days i'll play up to 4.Comment

Re: Strategy for completing multiple franchise years
DJ,
I use the pure Default sliders when simming. This gives the most realistic results, since its based on the A.I. ability and not user-skilled based. I've been wavering between pitching types. I'm a Zone hitter at heart and love the Analog pitching but I feel I get more realistic results/pitch types with Meter or Classic.Brewers | Golden Eagles | Packers | Bucks | Badgers | Fulham FC
