    Not sure about it.

Just out of curiosity, is the K-zone relative to the players' actual heights or how crouched they are in their stance.

And for Night games the same thing.

Rather than a true system of 24 hour period, like was in Madden 07 and MLB 2K7.

But if their version (which I am assuming how it is) allows for richer more realistic lighting like we see, then I will take it any day of the week over a blander looking 24 hour cycle like in past games. Which lacked HDR, true lighting of individual pixels and lighting off of everything with real shadows. It was just lighter and darker in those games, without the extra realism.

But this is just a guess by me.

        yeah...i agree

i have a strange fixation with progressive lighting...just curious to see if you would see the 2 cycles in action during 1 game

That is AWESOME!!! I was really hoping for this.

Any other cool, between-inning overlays, cut scenes, etc.?

Speaking of time of day transition, for those who played Home Run Derby, what time of day was it and does the time of day progress there as well?

We're not ignoring them it's just a difficult question to answer because we couldn't insert our own custom sounds or mp3 while we there. Without being able to do that we couldn't really determine how they work during the game.

I recall there were several different options where you could insert music. There were three options alone for when a relief pitcher enters the games. There was also options where you had three choices to insert music in innings. I believe you could assign the innings the music was heard. But again this wasn't something we could test.

You could assign specific music to not only your major league team but also your Triple A and Double A teams. It appeared from the menu you could assign music to every team including Triple A and Double A teams.

                  I would like to know:

                  1) If the infielders still pat the ball before making a throw to first base on a routine ground ball? In the past iterations, once you field a ground ball with an infielder, that infielder would hold the ball until the last minute before throwing to first to make the play a lot closer than needed.

                  2) Are there temperature variances and do the players wear appropriate clothing based on weather?

                  3) Weather effects (rain)?

                  4) Anything new with the presentation (opening sequence)?
                  What?

How do injuries work during games? Now, I've heard that there are "no cut scenes". Does this include with injuries on the field? Will we just see the notification after a play up the first baseline that "Alexei Ramirez is injured and needs to be replaced" and then after the game we find out he tore his achilles? Or will we still see the cut scene with them writhing in pain in the dirt? Or will we see in real time the injury take place and perhaps the trainers coming on the field to escort him off?

in franchise mode, are the historical stats expanded? I know last year when you looked on the back of a player's card it would only show ~5 categories for each past season.

Last year it seemed kind of lacking. I would love to see something more like High Heat baseball's stat tracking. It was very in depth.
For RTTS pitcher you can see your career stats against each batter. For a batter I believe you can see your career stats against each pitcher.

I can't recall of High Heat's baseball stat tracking (my memory isn't that good). What specific stats were you looking for?

I know exactly what you guys mean. I am the same way.

For Madden to remove cloud shadows and progressive lighting that it had in 07, was very disappointing.

                              1. There are many different throw sequences now. I'm sure the tap one is still in...but there are some great ones....smooth slow ones...hurry up ones...

                              2. Yes....the temp and wind are variable...and the players will wear long sleeves and the fans will bundle up accordingly.

                              3. No rain.

                              4. Not really...as a matter of fact the lineup screen was pared down. If there was any new scenes in the opening sequence...I don't remember(but I didn't get many games in like the others did)

Great! The Official MLB Rulebook defines the strikezone from those points you mentioned while the batter is in his batting stance. So if '10 goes by that official rulebook, someone like Ricky Henderson (Who crouched down VERY low) would have a smaller strikezone than if a batter of the same height had an upright stance.
