Ramone, I had a question about possibly implementing different controller feedback (vibration) for when you hit the ball... sort of giving the sensation of the bat making contact (rather solid or weak). Is that something that the team has considered?

Russell I have another question about online leagues if you wouldn't mind giving me some useful insight....
Say you're running a 30 team league and a owner drops, obviously now you can replace them. However, what if you can not find a suitable replacement will that team become CPU controlled or will there games just be simmed?
How would that work?Comment

Re: Post thoughts here for Community Day Hands-on Impressions
I love this game and the only thing that I disliked about MLB 09' was I didn't have control of the numbers.
I spent 500 hrs on guys like Mickey Mantle,Ted Williams,Willie Mays etc.
So it kind of killed it for me to see hundreds of my created players ( a labor of love )show up with the wrong numbers in Season & Franchise. Between 3 and 4 thousand hours of work...
One might think a little obsessive but to me it was my way of showing respect to the players I looked up to when I was a kid.
My question is will we be allowed to create players with their real numbers in MLB 10'?
Thanks,
scooter...
Retired numbers are locked.
Drew...Camden is one of my favorites...I just didn't get a chance for a game in there. Perhaps one of the other guys did.

re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
Does the crowd react to balls hit to the screen at the backstop?
I know they now have fans reaching down for foul balls down the line... A question to this, is there fan interference which can lead to a ground rule double? (this would be a real nice addition for MLB 2011 if not)
Back to the initial question... usually when a ball is fouled back straight to the screen, you'll see the fans jump back naturally, thinking the ball is going to hit them. So in MLB 2010, when you foul a ball back to the screen, will the fans react or has this not been addressed yet?Comment

Re: Post thoughts here for Community Day Hands-on Impressions
Man I can't wait for this game to come out. Perhaps one of these years SCEA will do a direct sale to those of us here on the forums who have been here for quite a few years where as soon as the game goes gold, they will ship us a copy. Hell, I'd pay the devs $70 directly for that privilege. Of course, I'd also be willing to sign a legal contract stating that I can not sell the game prior to it's street date, and I can not post images online or reviews.
Okay, I woke up from my dream..
I called it a "OS Fan Exclusive" Delivered On the Friday or saturday before tuesday release and they will make money and even more cutting out the middle man and we would save time at least me as the game is worth every pennyLast edited by dorismary; 01-25-2010, 01:05 AM.Comment

Thanks Knight,
I know a possible way around this "Retired Numbers dilemma"...
SCEA offers a "Face Tool" to create any face...
They offer first & last names that we put together to create almost anybodies name...
Why not in 2011 give us a Jersey "NUMBER TOOL" with color application ( Problem Solved )...

Is progressive field going to be updated in this years game? The championship banners in LF that have been in the game the last few years are not the current ones. They are the ones from 2004.Comment

re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
Hey guys can you tell me if,
AI pitching throws more balls without having to adjust sliders?
Uniform textures are sharper (especially for night games)?
Did Dodger stadium get any graphical improvements? There wasn't a tarp along the lines in 09.
Can you throw a breaking ball down without it becoming a passed ball?
Any more info on confidence and pitching accuracy or the big inning syndrome where you can be cruising along and suddenly the wheels fall off and your pitcher loses it completely?
Thanks.
That said, I think the tweaks to confidence (see nem's posts in the impressions thread) will mean the computer pitchers will miss the strike zone more often. You will still need to show patience and a good eye to draw walks though.
2) Yeah, they are, at least in my opinion. One of the things that really stood out to me was that you could see the stitching on the bills of players' caps - just an insane level of detail. Plus I'm pretty sure the numbers and such had more "pop" to them, like they weren't just laying flat on the unis. Maybe the other guys can give you details about the uniform details themselves.
Edit: After looking at '09 the stitching is actually visible as well. But it's much more prominent now.
3)No idea.
4)I didn't see as much of this, and this may be another result of the confidence tweaks.

. Well, disregard that question obviously.
However, my other question still holds water regarding ground rule doubles as a result of fan interference.Comment

re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
1) As has been the case for many years, this series doesn't hand out walks like candy - you have to earn them. I was able to take balls and draw some walks against the CPU on various difficulties, but it's because I work the count and foul tough pitches off. If you swing at everything and chase out of the zone, you'll probably find it no different from last year.

My question and I am sorry if it has been answered, I have been trying to follow the thread is about user walks. It is almost impossible to walk someone unless you are pitching around him. I am hoping that has changed this year. If not I might go to classic pitching to get more realistic stats.

Re: Post thoughts here for Community Day Hands-on Impressions
I went through each of the stadiums that did fire works and they did them during the day as well. As for the White sox, there were fire works in the sky but not out of the pinwheels. They just spun with flashing lights blinking. I would assume it occurs after wins if the stadium does it in real life.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment
