Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
ok, ill comp u that one.
that was good.
heres the thing, i kid because i care.
I like paps.
I am one of the very few yankee fans who has no problem with the red sox.
its just a game and without that rivalry all these years, honestly, that division would have sucked and on top of that baseball itself would suffer.
i have fun with it.
besides, life is too short and so is pedroia.
back to the BB thing.
I noticed at my best buy the rfirst time it was 480, when i went back the game looked a lot better, so i checked.

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
At best buy right now! I started a season(not chise) with the twins. Simmed games and kept trying to sim into 6th or 7th with a lead to see if the AI comeback is in effect again. This is for those like myself who saw it last year! I finally got into a game with the Royals at home. I simmed to 7th inning and was up 2-1. Pavano was still in game at 90 pitches! I started warming up guerrier. 7th went like this!
Alex Gordon struck out chasing a 2-2 fastball(1 out). Getz grounded to RF for a single. Podsednik flied out to CF(2 outs). DeJesus grounded out to 1B(3 outs)! Whew right?!?
8th inning(score still 2-1):Had Crain in pitching the inning. Butle popped out to C(1 out). Ankiel lined to CF for a single. Pena was hit by a pitch(uh oh right?) Guillen lined out to 3B(shouldve had double play at 2nd but hit wrong button! 2 outs tho). Betancourt walked on a 3-2 pitch(bases loaded 2 outs!) Gordon flied out to LF(3 outs, whewwww!!!)
9th inning(still 2-1 score with Nathan in to close): Getz flied out to RF(1 out). Podsednik grounded out to 3B(nice animation with 3b charging the ball and the throw to first! 2outs). DeJesus flied out to LF(3 outs!).
So with this game i can say so far its good news! Even when i was in the jam in the 8th, i felt the cpu earned the bases loaded situation. Extremely happy with the results. Will do this again and see what happens. It mentioned it was Nathans 250th career save afterwards, and the team gather around him, patting him down for a VERY brief celebration, but cool it mentioned it still. So again, for thos skeptical like i am about the AI comeback, so far its looking good, but going to continue to test! Feel free to ask questions while I am here at BB using my cell to post this!Comment

Yea, sure thing! the start button on the controllers are jammed so bad tho! when i hit start its like Im holding it down. Their alternate looks like reg home jersey except with pinstripes. Throwback old looks like alternate except it doesnt have a number showing on the front(ocant view back). The color is like an ivory color too instead of white. The "throwback" looks identical to "throwback old" imo, may be a little lighter shade of white tho. Then they have the blue warmup jersey. Away jersesys: Alternate is black jersey "throwback is grey with New York written across(no number printed). "road" is same as throwback except with # printed on front side. "throwback old" is identical to throwback it appears.Comment

For my fellow Mets fans, looks like they made the throwbacks the '60s versions as opposed to '09s '70s versions and I guess they've included the new pinstripe jersey too along with the white home unis.Comment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
Ok, so I have been reading impressions and decided today at lunch, to go check it out at BB. All i have to say is WOW. Anyone who doesn't think this years game doesn't look better than last years, needs to go back and play it again. There are so many cool things added. For one, the crowd is MUCH more active. They seem very responsive to what's going on in the game. Like for instance, I hit a shot to right with Ludwick and the crowd got really loud because they thought it was a HR. Then they all when OHHHHHHHHHHH when the dude caught it at the wall, very cool. They also got louder in the 9th when the game was on the line.
There also seems to be more diving animations this year, that I don't remember in years past. I saw Konerko dive for a ball down the 1st base line. It appeared that he smothered it with his body, but then the ball squirted out from underneith him, and got far enough away that I was able to leg out a single.
Stances also look more improved from the one's I saw. Holliday in particular stood out. He had the little neck twitching he does while performing his warm up swings. Also had his high leg kick as he swings the bat.
Graphics look way improved. Busch Stadium looks like the scoreboard got some attention this year. It looks great. Light transition from day to night is SICK. Much improved from last year. The shadows going accross the diamond are awesome. The new lineup presentation and batters that are on deck is a cool new feature. Also the active bullpen and dugouts are very cool.
I am so impressed with this game, that I am for sure going back tomorrow on my lunch to get some more innings in. I can't wait till Tuesday. There were at least 4 people that went past me as I was playing. Every single one of them commented that it looked like I was playing a real baseball game. Great job SCEA.Comment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
I hear your pain nadasfan. I also live in the cities area and played for about an hour yesterday over in Eden Prairie before I had to go back to work. Luckily I only work about 5 miles from Ridegedale BB so I'm hoping to run over there on my lunch break to get some more action in.
I was very impressed with the game. 2 years ago I convinced my wife we needed a PS3 just because of this game. I have been a loyal fan to the Show for the last 2 years always buying a copy, but for us Twins fans this is a must pick-up this year. I am so excited to start a franchise and not have to have over half my games in the homerdome. This year is gonna be amazing.
I am very impressed with how well they captured Target Field being this is the first year. The only gripe is no granite behind the plate, but I noticed the dugouts had the stone. The skylike is really well done and the new lighting makes the games come alive.
My first game I played the Yanks under the lights. I noticed right away how much better the lighting was even at night. Night games look spot on. Graphically, the light reflections off the helmets look better and the atmosphere makes me feel like I am already at the stadium. I was able to adjust the volume and can tell you the fans really get into the game. In the third inning Mauer hit an opposite field HR just over the left field wall. How realistic is that! Haha, and the fans went nuts. I could swear I was watching a live game. Then the next batter (Morneau) I struck out and the croud settled back down. But I liked how they replayed Mauers HR in between innings. Very nice touch.
The players this year move much more realistically. Especially when I put the controller down and took a few steps back. The TV at the BB I played at must have had the sharpness and contrast up very high. Started to hurt my eyes after about 10 minutes. I was able to get a full game in without an interuption besides a couple employees and lost to the Yanks 6-4. I was swinging at almost everthing though, but I couldn't be happier with the game. Even though how some people have mentioned the menus are stale and what not, I agree, but it's what happens while playing the game that will make or break the purchase for me. And I have to say, with the new presentation cameras and tighter controls, this is a step up from a solid game last year.
So I want to say thank you to all the people involved in this game for giving us the most realistic and fun baseball game I can think of once again.Comment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
Finished another test game for ai comeback. I am twins @ tigers. Up 8-6 bottom of 7th.
7th inning: Guillen grounded out to 2b. Cabrera grounded out to 2b. Santiago lined out to 1b.
8th inning: Thomas flied out to CF. Everett hit one down 3b line, was thrown out by Kubel at 2nd trying for double! Inge grounded to RF for single. Ordones grounded to CF for pinch hit single. Rabern grounded out to 3b for final out.
9th inning(nathan in to close): Diaz grounded out to SS. Guillen struck out looking on 0-2 fastball. Cabrera grounded to LF for a single. Santiago struck out looking on 0-2 fastball.
I the called to end the game was sketchy, it looked high and outside to me, BUT i was called out looking on outside pitch with thome in the 8th. so that ump apparently gives the pitcher the outside part of the plate. It was cool tho, cuz Santiago kinda stared back at ump as he was walking away, and the crowd was booing.
Again, no ai comeback apparent! Everything they got i felt like they earned. Im thinking thats its def not there this year, but would like to test at least 2-3 morre times before deciding. Feeling really good about this game so far, cant wait to play it at home!Comment

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!
got in another game.. LA vs. Cubs in Wrigley.. Byrd on a full stride climbed the ivy to try to catch an Ethier home run.. He missed.. The wall climb looked unbelievably good..
really love seeing the other teams bullpen and you can plan ahead on who the other team may bring in..
Had a few infield hits off of choppers and did see pitch counts drop down around the 5th - 6th inning.. Love the scoring on the top of the screen that indicates infield hits or error rulings.. Ended up losing 7 - 2 as Billingsley got bombed.. (I play on All Star in 09, but this was veteran..) My bullpen got hammered.. When the manager of BB asked if I needed a chair I took it as a hint to bail.."if only you've seen, what I've seen with your eyes.."
