Why doesn't the PS3 automaticallly commit to the highest resolution that works??? I've always wondered this.

It commits to the optimized resolution for the game i think...so if it displays in 1080p, it will default to 720p if the game is optimized for that resolution.

For all of you that have played the game.. How is the fielding? Do the players charge the ball? I felt in 09, the players really never charged the ball. Single up the middle and the CF would slowly get to the ball.... Thanks!

ok guys, more postcards from the wasteland.

just got back from another round of BB-Show.

Saw some things not seen yesterday by me...

first off, i have to say the batter walk up is not as annoying to me as it was yesterday but make no mistake, i still feel it needs an overhaul along with the front end and ALL menus.

that being said, its ok for now.
My g-friend liked 2k's better and said it looked 'fun' but said the shows looked more professional like a corporation.
Good or bad? lol

I always ask her opinions as a side observer since she is not bias and only says what she sees.

--three games still no difference to the lineup card, so its safe to assume for some reason SCEA decided to get rid of the player focus, which wasnt harming anything, but ah well

--saw a few more drop down stats [i played a june franny game and didnt see anything franny related] like game temp, jeter just extended his HS to 13 games, swisher likes ring dings.
Ok maybe not the last one.
But there wasnt many.
I didnt see any stat boxes at all either.
10 inning game.

--I hit my first a-rod homer.
i see they didnt change the HR view, as it still seems to not follow the ball or even show much of the crowd. A long fly ball to thge track by gardner had the same leveled view that arod's upper deck bomb did.
Come on now SCEA.

--The graphics got better overnight!
I tried Target field on a 1pm game and noticed shadow shifting and really gave the stadium a different feel by 3pm

--2k shows a pitch count in the drop down box frequently and was PO'd the show didnt do this, but if u use WIDE view for batting, u can in some stadiums see the running tally on the scoreboard while batting.
Neat-o.

--i didnt notices the flat hat pirates in the classic unis, not the 86 mets, but for some its hard to tell as it just says, CLASSIC or whatever, no year like the hoops games.
And I aint much of a met fan to notice the 92 unis compared to the 86s.

--the menus not being changed obviously are still a chore to navigate. for 11 can we get a more minimalist design here?

I gave my girl the controller and had to try to find how to change the batting view and to check for free agents and her ears started smoking and she fizzled out
I took her over to geek Squad and got her a new processor.
Then she spent the rest of the time in BB looking at Sting cds'
Wonder what they did?

I didnt expect Randy Winn to already be on the yanks so that was cool, I think he got signed on the 2nd.

Chan Ho Park is in FA's so he will get added soon.

--i like when checking the CPU bullpen, you get the next three batters coming up and the L/R splits


--all in all a sweet experience but i will not go back on my initial feeling that this game needs a visual overhaul to the presentation
the gameplay remaning the same would feel like a new game if they just changed the front-end, menues and overlays.
Honestly.

Just played at BB. To those saying the graphics look bad, I am 100 % sure that the contrast and sharpness are all the way up on the BB tv. It will look great on a properly calibrated tv. I'm not worried in the least.

me and my girls noticed the graphics weren't as sharp as it was when watching 09 on GStops small screen
must be the tv.

i remember moving it to RTP with Replays
not sure if thats why.
the camera/presentation part is confusing inthose menus lol

yikes I sure hope they fixed this. I know I read somewhere that the camera now followed the ball to the end... not a game-killer, but something I was really happy about.. oh well..

They did show him run the full distance tho.



Also, the camera got close up as he rounded second and held on to his hat then pulled away again

The crowd fell DEAD silent when he hit it, it was top of the tenth in a tie game.

On a sound note, the crowd was ROCKING in bottom of the 9th,

Hughes walked the firs ttwo men.
Then got an out on a pop up bunt, then a K and got Mauer to pop up to second, and I mean when they had firs and second the crowd WAS ROCKING, no lie.
Blew away 09 in that regard.
They got silent after the pop up.

Where you playing in broadcast cam for both offense and defense? Because all the home runs in broadcast follow the ball into the stands. I am having a hard time thinking this changed.

Where you playing in broadcast cam for both offense and defense? Because all the home runs in broadcast follow the ball into the stands. I am having a hard time thinking this changed.

I was overwhelmed with the settings.
I never checked, so scratch what I said until i can or someone else can confirm this in those settings.

All i remember changing was some broadcast setting to RTP w/ replay.
thats all i changed.

You have to be careful econoodle when you pull the fire alarm and are not 100% sure. It sends everyone running and screaming in panic mode. Just a heads up!

yep, just didnt know i'd have to tweak things all around.
I figured since it was changed it was the default HR view.
plus, i was playing it at a best buy, didnt wanna do a Vin Scully and pull up a chair and stay a while.


Its all good in the OS hood
