OMG! Some of these complaints are just out there! Number one, its a freaking video game people. Pixalted batting gloves? Stale broadcasting. Let me say this about that. If you play the game as much as most of us do here. Any team of broadcasters or scripts for games would get stale in a week. Maybe next year the devs can have Matt available to us all to do live broadcasts for our games. I just think its a bit sad that some would wheel out complaints like this. A complaint would be something like. "The issue of throws to home still being way offline are still a problem." Things like that. And not. "Well I don't like the color of this guys eyes." C'mon and give the devs a break. This game is not perfect. . . but I have yet to play a game that was. Just be a bit more realistic. Sorry for the rant but this is really getting annoying. Its not rocket science!!!

I like reading opinions on both sides of the spectrum. In a forum this big (and it will be HUGE next Tuesday) you have to expect wide differences of opinion. Some guys will care a lot about certain things while others won't care at all. Just accept that rather than take shots at other posters. It will lead to a lot less arguing in these forums over the next couple weeks.

While I wasn't the original person to point out some of the things such as commentary and stale front end/presentation, I did agree and support those points. I'd like to chime in that I love this game and none of these elements would stop me from purchasing it.

But they are valid points of things that need to be updated to keep the series fresh. You can't argue that. The commentary has been more or less the exact same now for about 4 years, and the presentation and front end design the same. Again - i'm not labeling these as show stoppers at all. And it's not so much complaining as just pointing out, I think some things like this need to be updated and they should be priorities for going forward.

What's wrong with some constructive criticism? No one can say anything bad at all? I think the points raised are valid.

they arent full games, well not the finished product because i popped it out the ps3 and it was a blank disc with not for resale on it, so if 1 store has it then it should be all stores

Got you... That makes sense..I thought it was the full game since when I went to the XMB I saw the disk icon and assumed it was the actual game.

Aren't people playing with different teams? I also thought someone said they tried a quick game of RTTS?

If that is the case, then it isn't a demo. It is either the full retail version without the label that is sent to all the Best Buy stores. Or it is a full version, prior to the final one, that was sent to all the Best Buy stores.

Unless I am mistaken and everyone played with the same two teams?

i am a HUGE stat/presentation freak.
i noticed the lineup card pops up and 2 seconds later its gone.
they dont even focus on a player anymore

I think I remember it being discussed much earlier on in the dev cycle, that there would be varying intros that you would get at random. One would be the short, quick version and the other one would be just like it was last year. So maybe you just saw one of the games with the quick intro. Anyone else remember this being discussed?

just played it at my best buy and all i can say is wow..i've played 2k until i decided to get a ps3 this year and cannot absolutely wait to get this game..only thing though is i played with atlanta and my buddy was the mets..we were playing in new york and i wore the blue jerseys..only problem was the hat I wore was the one Atlanta wears with their sunday red unis..anybody know if you can change hats or no?

Apparently the show cannot fix this because they have to go off of the MLB uniform guidelines which state that those combinations are how Atlanta is setup to wear the jerseys/hats in real life and that the actual Braves organization switches it up the way they want. The show developers cannot stray from the guidelines that the MLB gives them, so unless they can get permission to allow the user to make up their own combinations we are stuck with the wrong uniform combinations.

Just played it in best buy also and i can't believe they still never changed that when you play in auto fielding, when your team fields the ball that blue and white circle still comes up!!

Ok here are me quick impressions after playing it at our local Best Buy in Fargo.

#1- Best Buy needs to add some longer cords! I could only take 3 innings being 6" from the screen. It makes it hard to take it all in standing that close to a 50" TV.

#2- Best Buy needs to cut a bigger hole in the plastic holder for the start button! Thankfully i had a Sharpie in my jacket pocket and used the clip on the cap to push the start button. What a pain!

Ok enough about best buy and on to the game. I played Twins vs Indians at the new Target Field. Target field looks great! I used the batter view through the whole time I played so I am not sure if it had the brick facing for the backstop or not which was brought up on a different thread. So I start the game and I think it was Sizemore hits a grounder to our new starting SS JJ Hardy, and of course its E6 off the glove. Guy isnt even a full day into spring training yet and I am already not liking his addition to the Twins. All kidding aside he looked good doing it in the game. Countless people walking behind me did a double take and then stoped to take a look at how real it looked and made several comments to the effect of how they thought it was an actual game on tv until they realized I had a controler in my hand. Some other quick points.

-The lighting is awesome.
-I found the pitching to be a little harder to hit your release point but it may be because I have not played in over a month.
-Cut scenes were great! I loved the realism of the fans leaning over the railing for a foul ball. Thought that was kinda cool.
-The ball gets down the line much quicker. You have to take a good angle to the corner or expect to get burnt.

Didnt have alot of time to dig into it too much and the close proximity to the screen kind of runined it a little but it is definitely an improved game in my opinion and I cant wait for its release next week.

The show developers cannot stray from the guidelines that the MLB gives them, so unless they can get permission to allow the user to make up their own combinations we are stuck with the wrong uniform combinations.

^ However, the MLB style guide has the all-navy hats with the navy jerseys. If they are wearing red-brimmed hats in the game, that was a mistake, not something that resulted from the style guide.

If it is not the full final version it is pretty close. All teams I believe are available to play. It IS NOT like the Demo that was able to be downloaded before last years game where just the Phillies and Rays were able to be played in Philly for 3 innings.

Just curious about something...and perhaps this was already answered along time ago, so forgive me.

Does this year's version include more Historical Uniforms selections for the teams? For example the old 76 Pirates flat hats, yellow jerseys, black pants...or their pinstripes unis. Or the powder blue Phillies road unis, 86 Mets Unis, etc,.....stuff like that?


I love sometimes playing with nostalgia and having teams wear their classics and 09 only had a few of the classics but not all of em
