I don't know if anyone played NCAA Basketball 10, but they had 2 separate broadcast packages for CBS and ESPN with their respective commentators. I think they could implement something similar in MLB using the FOX broadcast team and the ESPN broadcasters, or maybe TBS, and then go from there.

Like I've said before, I would like to see Craig Ferguson and Josh Robert Thompson commentate in this game. There are many different teams you could get with just these two men. JRT can do Morgan Freeman, Geoff Peterson, and many more. Craig can do Sean Connery, a German man, Michael Caine, and some others.Comment

Re: Who would you REPLACE the Commentary Team with...
I can't wait until the day these games are so advanced that they can digitally replicate classic announcers like Mel Allen or Phil Rizzuto or some such.
Imagine having a menu of available announcers?
Ignoring the licensing complications, something like that would probably several generations away.
Fun to think about tho.
you can probalby still find it... wait....
nope only a link to the features are avail or a downloadable version.

.......
..........
..............
BOB FREAKING UECKER!!!!!!!!!!! or team them up... hawk play by play and uker for color... NOW THERE IS A TEAM!!!! oh yeah... bring it on Hawk and Uecker
hawk and uecker
hawk and uecker....
yeah... i can here it in my mind and it would be classic!!!!!!! get on it team lets go start the campiagn now!!!!
Bring us this team and we will rule the virtual baseball world!!!!! well we already do but it would be over the top completely awesome!!!!
H-A-W-K and U-E-C-K-E-R!!!!!!
anyone??? seconding this???? both could be had for pretty cheap... heck id even take Uecker by himself...
lose the third guy in the booth... we don't need it... just two guys, more lines, fresher commentary,
listen to both one game of each team through a season, both from the tv side and their radio side...
take notes while doing this of things you hear and like about the broadcast. their excitement, disappointment, surprise, etc. etc. etc.
or just watch all the espn games all year long and take all the notes you can on things you hear... but some of those notes into the commentary.
just pay attention to the details.. to what is being said, how it is being said, the conversations between the commentators, all of it... from pre game to post game.... just listen and pay attention to real life commentary...
that is all, now back to your regularly scheduled thread!!!!!!!"Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

Hawk Harrelson can die in a fire.
Uecker's the best, though. But he wouldn't translate to a video game at all. What makes him so great is his storytelling and his improvisation. Both of which would be murdered in a video game.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: Who would you REPLACE the Commentary Team with...
I like Vas and Karros, I also like the team on ESPN with Bobby V and Hershiser.
One thing that has always bothered me about commentary. I get board with the frequent repitition of phrases/lines. If you have the MLB license why not use past years commentary from TV broadcasts for more commentary in-game? You wouldn't have to schedule recording sessions. Just cut and paste for more variations on lines. You could use recording sessions for more stories. When we all played the demo we all heard the story of "can the giants repeat?". Must have heard it every time. I wanted to kill myself.Last edited by Yankees2009Champs; 09-13-2011, 12:50 AM."Undaunted, I knew the game was mine to win. If they don't change the script with the same old tired lines, it won't matter who they get to read them.Comment

I have to agree. Karros was a great new addition but he tends to say the same lines as the broadcasters said in MLB 11. Not that big of a deal but I wouldn't mind seeing this same crew next year but with a lot more variety.PSN: ckarlic

Posting to say that Matt Vasgersian is on Fox baseball right now in real life, and he even sounds stale in real life. All this time I thought it was just poor voice work in the video game, but his real life voice literally sounds like it was created for a video game.Comment

Bobhead, he's working with a fossil. What are you expecting, McCarver stole his charisma."Undaunted, I knew the game was mine to win. Just like in life, ALL of my successes depend on me. I've always thought this about him. The guy is boring. I hope if they keep him in the game much longer, that it's for the ''extra'' stuff (notes on weather, attendance, etc.) and not the meat and potatoes of the PbyP.Comment
