Wow, this is really something, huh? I've been patiently waiting for Tuesday to come around, I *might* be *somewhat* miffed if I can't play a certain game that day. Hopefully this gets cleared up quick..I haven't turned on my PS3 today, so no idea if I'm affected yet.

Hey Knight, have you guys not gotten your copies yet? Cheap sob's didn't overnight them?

It has nothing to do with online, its an internal system error.

You sure? My old 40 gb system shows the date as 3/1 and I just turned on The Show and it works perfectly. If it was an internal error, it wouldn't matter that my system isn't hooked to the internet.

I've read it doesn't matter if you haven't gone online in ages. When you turn it on the date will probably change to 12/31/1999 (OMG Y2K!!! ) but there have been cases in which changing the date back to today's will let you play your games (only if you haven't already tried to play the games). Also, Sony is already working on solving the the issue.

Is yours PS2 compatable? I read the ones that were compatable were the ones having issues. Also all of my friends who have a compatable PS3 have the issue, the non compatable ones do not.

Then again theres so much floating around out there, who knows for sure.

i dont know for sure since i am just a low life from Wisconsin..haha but thats what i found on the ps3 forums and it does kind of make sense.. they are saying most of the slims are working and maybe some of the phatties are working, which i think is bullcrap i havent seen star jones in months.. ya i guess we can all just wait tomorrow and pray to the video game gods before we tuck ourselves into our hannah montana bed sheets....

Yeah...one of mine is flippin' out like it's 1999(cause in it's world...it is!)....and that's my PS3 compatible one.
I haven't tried my second PS3 yet....it's the different "fat" model...but I don't think it's the PS2 compatible.

I'm hoping.

hey man i wouldnt even boot that thing up until tomorrow or until they find a cure or a patch dont want to risk losing trophies, ive tried playin mw2 and nba live 10 and the trophies deleted off my list... my ps3 has aids aids aids aids aids aids

UK here - just turned on my PS3, not connected to the internet, system date reset to 31/12, no MLB 09.....40Gb old one....

Can you believe it, and MLB 10 is on it's way too. (today)

I just flipped mine on to watch a movie, and the date and everything on it is correct....it's a newer "fat" model that isn't PS2 compatible, so maybe that's the problem. So hopefully I'm good come tuesday. For those that aren't, man I hope this gets fixed pronto. Like I said in another thread, I hope this isn't something with a chip inside and Sony winds up having to repair them.
