Re: MLB 10: The Show - The Little Things Thread

Something really awesome happened in a Yankees-Sox game I played earlier. I have 2 men on base with Tex up at bat. I'm starting to slap Lester around and it is the top of the 6th. I hit a line drive homerun over the monster and Francona signals for the pitching change. Lester just flips the ball to Francona in disgust.

I guess he was pissed I took the lead and he was getting yanked with 2 outs. I'm noticing these little things that definitely keep me entertained.

MLB The Show is the standard for console sports gaming. Wow I sound like a fanboy but its true, great product.

Probably takes a lot more work to make new hats for every team then it is to make the same accessories for everyone. Maybe next year.

So I am in a bit of a financial bind with university tuition and no job. I was telling my girlfriend in passing a month ago how 3 sick games (MLB 10, BFBC 2, GoW 3) are coming out in March and I money for none. I go to her house a few days ago and on her table is sitting MLB 10. Now I have never celebrated Christmas being Muslim and all, but I am assuming the look I had on my face resembled that of a kid on Christmas morning.

I get home and play the game and it has blown my mind. One at bat, Nick Johnson kicked the chalk around the batters box and it moved and it wasn't reset for the rest of the game. That to me was AWESOME. That is when you know you are getting the complete baseball experience.

you got it my man. you just experienced the equivalent of getting an xmas gift. lol. you must have an awesome gf, that is pretty cool.

i gotta check out the chalk thing. I notice after I make a catch sometimes, there is like a long piece of grass and the outfielder picks it and then throws it.

hit one into the water fountain in KC in HR derby. Made the plop sound disappeared, then bobbed back up and floated slowly with the current. Absolutely beautiful.

I could play HR derby all season with this game.

when playing day games in outdoor stadiums, sometimes you see bugs flying when batting (catcher cam)

i notice it more in batting training (not in RTTS), but it happens in exhibition once in a while in open stadiums (not in Tropicana or Metrodome, not so much in Rogers Center) but i assume you have to be playing with a warm weather team in the summer

Re: MLB 10: The Show - The Little Things Thread

Just had my first tight game in the end. I was playing as the Athletics at home versus the Orioles. I ended up down 6 to 3 in the ninth because Sheets pitching had gotten away from me for an inning. Anyway, First guy up to bat gets a single against Mike Gonzalez. He has the cobra sway and it's sick. Next guy gets a fastball high and hits it to the warning track. I grunted loudly. Next guy up gets a fastball and again it goes to the outfield but right to the outfielder. So I'm sitting there disgruntled as I'd just missed 2 homers in a row. So up comes Ryan Sweeney and he gets a fastball in and he jacks his 2nd homerun of the game. Crowd goes nuts loud and they yank Gonzalez for Yuji or whatever his name is. He gets the last batter out and does a big celebration cause he closed it and stopped me. xD

The postseason atmosphere i great. I am in game 1 of the ALDS at home with the White Sox. The fans have towels and you can see them waving them. I had runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs and Damon came up to bat (I snagged him in FA) and the crowd got so loud before each pitch. You could also see the towels waving in the outfield stands. It is rare a video game makes me smile and say "That is pretty f'ng cool".

SCEA stores a lot of stats into their game but unfortunately they don't show all of it...it would be awesome if they can show a lot more stats in 11

maybe what team(s) the player was in his career, and other important stats.

I love how Matty V mentions bullpen activity. And I especially loved it when he, playing Twins vs Rangers, he said:

"And with the M&M boys, Mauer and Morneau, due up soon, the Rangers have a lefty warming up in the bullpen."

I also love how the stadium is 95% empty in the backgournd after the post-game highlights end and the final menu comes up.
