Re: MLB 10: The Show - The Little Things Thread

    Saw my first ejection.......

I was playing against the White Sox, and two of my batters got plunked, back-to-back.

When I took the mound as Carmona, I plunked one of their guys by mistake, and the scene showed him starting to charge the mound.

Next thing I see, is a message box: "Fausto Carmona has been ejected from the game."

Don't know if the batter was also ejected........wish I could've seen the whole thing play out, but maybe MLB wouldn't permit it??

Had a ball comeback and hit my pitcher in the leg and it bounced perfectly off it. Love the physics this year. Then I got a ShowMotion replay showing the whole thing.

Just played my first minor league game.
Liked how the crowd sounded small.
You could really hear the chatter like you would at a minor league park.

Now if I could just hear all the immersive stadium sounds in the big league parks without going into the pause screen.
Do these sounds exist while your actually playing the game, or only in the pause screen?

I just got game today and played first game when I got home from uni. Pirates @ Giants and the game was fantastic!

Playing on HOF Lincecum had perfect game until 6th when Bobby Crosby had a 1 out hit to right field. Loved the new small things like pitching velocity comparison, people hanging over railing for foul balls, the new camera when your batting after you hit the ball is cool. Enjoyed seeing Sandoval's pre at bat routine, and Brian Wilson salute after he records a save.

Can't wait for Knight's rosters and finally getting the patch downloaded to start my RTTS and Franchise

it is cool, but it shouldnt be on the ticker.
            it looks silly there.

it SHOULD be presented as a overlay and the announcers should mention it, just like you'd see on TV.

during a break, a small box should pop up with the team logo, team colors around the overlay box with ticket information and have the announcers hawk it.
            simple.

when playing @ AT&T, did you notice the "K's" piling up & hanging on the brick wall, down the right field line, in foul territory? Some guys are noticing this "little thing" from last year has vanished this season? I do miss this...

had Okijama in as relief..batter hit a line drive right into his face! he quickly recovered and found the ball, which had gone from his head right to the ground..and threw out the runner at 1st...that's what i call taking one for the team!

Has anyone seen a pitcher actually get injured from one of these? I see about one a game and no injuries yet.

I'm a big Yankees fan and I even hate it!!...lol OMG, it is so obvious these two clowns, Sterling and Kay are butt kissers for the Yankee brass. Susan Waldman too!!

I wish there were a little more neutral in calling the games. The only one I didn't mind was The Scooter, cause he was a life long Yankee player and he earned the right to be baias and show his support for the team.

I read through quite a few posts, but forgive me if I post something that has already been said.

I like the way the bases have the team name on them, I don't remember this from last year, although it might have been there. I also love the ticker that says little things.

I was playing with the Brewers vs. the Rockies and Barmes got a hit and it said "He just passed _______ for number 461 all time" or something like that. I was thinking seriously? They posted something like that? Awesome.

Ichiro got fooled by a change up and was way out in front. All of a sudden, it cuts to a shot of the bat flying out of his hands and into the stands. I couldn't believe it, awesome stuff. Hud said something about wishing the bat was a boomerang so that it could come back, or some rambling thing, said he hoped no one got hurt.

Also, I got my first video review of a home run. Ruled a home run, overturned to foul. Right call. Weird thing is that a few nights ago, the Cards hit a three run "homer" in the 10th against me (it was foul by a few feet, did not hit the foul pole after I reviewed it several times). No review, no nothing. Just a sour taste in my mouth because that cost me the win against my most despised team.

The little things....The Show does it.

I was playing a franchise game the other day, and the CPU hit a rocket shot at my 2B. The team commented on comeback speed, mentioning that a FB in the '90s often comes off the bat at over 100 MPH. They clocked the ball at 104 MPH. Just a really cool touch there.

Also, I had one of those games where I hit every ball hard . . . right at a fielder. I really love the variety of gameplay. Some games everything goes just right and some games it all goes wrong. Love it!

They have it at Busch. I struck out 6 in a row early in a game with Brad Penny, and they showed this and Rex mentioned that if Penny kept it up, they might run out of K's.

With a game this deep, how the hell did this thread get buried to page four?

I'm running a franchise with LAD, and I played my first game at FLA. I hit a ball with Martin, and their LF took a false step or two in, then tried to track backward and catch it but couldn't make up the space he lost. He totally misplayed the ball! I don't remember ever seeing that last year. Very cool touch!

Yikes... I had to bump this form the bottom of page 3. It's my favorit thread of the entire year...

I love how, when the Cubbies are one pitch away from victory at Wrigley, Matty V now says "Hey, Chicago, what do you say? 41,000 on their feet."

On a personal note, this lifetime East Coaster finally made the pilgrimage to Wrigley last summer, and that might just be my favorite place on Earth. Bar hoping around Wrigley hours before and hours after the game... drinking an Old Style every inning and singing Go Cubs Go after the win...

Wait... I may have a drinking problem
