This does not follow the format of normal bugs.

Since the patch came out when I try to quit the game after I finish by pressing the PS button & then choosing the "quit game" icon located above the DVD icon of the game on the XMB, I get the whistle sound like when you first turn on the PS3 by pressing the PS button & it actually turns off my PS3 controller too.

This issue only started post patch.

This is happening to me as well. I have a PS3 Slim if that makes any difference.

Actually....I thought he said that the DL'ed players wouldn't be counted and you would be able to sign players basically "putting you over" the 90 limit.
When the players were ready to come back...you'd be forced to make a decision then.

I also saw the 90 limit get pushed in 2 for 1 and 3 for 1 trades....where you would have 91 or 92 players on the count and would have to make moves to accommodate accordingly.

You might be right. But I thought Kolbe meant if you put a player on DL and you sign a free agent you won't go over the 40-man roster (as was the issue in the past.) However, I thought Kolbe said you still need a free slot in the "90-player" limit to do that.

This is happening to me as well. I have a PS3 Slim if that makes any difference.

Same thing for me since the patch (PS3 60 GB Fat Model). When I quit the game the PS3 beeps, shuts off and re-boots like I just powered on the system, my controller also shuts off.

Ahhh...yes..you might be right.
That was the rub...not the roster..but the 40 man.

Another thing noticed with the pitcher/batter window is after closing it, the game does not display the pitch types to guess the pitch type. It does come up from the batter's perspective in the bottom right/left corner but sometimes does not come up on the first time pressing R2. Instead, I have had to press R2 2x really quick to bring up the pitch types, sometimes resulting in not allowing me to guess the pitch type in time before the windup.

I was playing a two person game on the same console last night & I noticed this too. I wondered about it. Now that you mention it happened to you too, it seems that it was not a fluke as I originally thought.

Im not sure if this would be considered a bug or glitch, but something definitely seems off. i think it may have something to do with the potential grade issue. either way, i thought it couldnt hurt to throw it out there

I was drafted by the red sox, playing in double A ball. Its july 2010, right before the all star break. the sox are 41-45, 5.5 games out of first. and since april they have made three interesting trades. one deal sent jon lester and david ortiz to texas, the next sent clay bucholz to cincy, and the most recent sent Dice-K to texas, all for unknown guys....who by the way, all had A potential ratings. thats what makes me wonder if this does have something to do with that issue. all these moves just seemed weird, before the all star break while the team is still in contention.

How often can the bug be reproduced?

Not exactly sure. Im in RTTS and i dont have any control over it

I think this is a combo of two things.
For whatever the reason....the Red Sox seem to be going into rebuilding mode.
Now...I have noticed that they have a TON of A potential players in their minor league system.
I'm going to test by moving all the A potential fakes off of Boston and see what happens then.

When the catcher throws the ball back to the pitcher it seems very buggy how he recieves the ball including the speed and animation.

As often as the catcher throws the ball back to the pitcher which is normally over 120+ per game.

What I'm about to throw out one is incredibly stupid (it's not a bug or glitch), but if you SCEA guys are OCD about this, here's something I caught.

How did it happen or what did you do to trigger it? Can you recreate it?

It appears that the teams have been arranged in division order, from the AL East all the way to the NL West. Within these subdivisions each team is alphabetized by their location name (so the Cardinals are after the Pirates because the "P" in Pittsburgh is before the "S" in St. Louis alphabetically). Keeping that in mind, unless there is an implied location for the Nationals other than Washington that I don't know about, they are placed out of order in the NL East. They are placed third in order (Braves, Marlins, Nationals, Mets, Phillies) instead of last (Braves, Marlins, Mets, Phillies, Nationals). It wouldn't mean D.C. either without it appearing before the Florida Marlins.

Just thought I'd point it out. I didn't know where else to post it without it sounding totally weird. I couldn't care less about this, but strictly for consistency purposes on your end, the teams are technically out of order.

I have a 3rd Baseman in RTTS mode (my secondary position is IF), and I have RTTS fielding turned off. I came in to pinch hit in a game, and was then placed at catcher on defense the next inning. It made me call the pitches and catch (even though I have fielding turned off) for one batter, and then replaced me with a defensive replacement after that one batter.

How did it happen or what did you do to trigger it? Can you recreate it? I was the Orioles at Tampa Bay, opening game. I played the game until the bottom of the seventh inning with Tampa Bay up to bat, and the game froze. I tried re-playing the game, and again, it froze in the seventh inning.

How often can the bug be reproduced?
Every time a game is played in franchise with the Orioles.

Based on posts I have seen here regarding this, the issue is with Tampa, not Baltimore.

I can can firm this as well and it kind of is a big deal. I haven't been able to get through that Tampa Bay series at all. I am also the Yankees. It freezes so bad that I was already looking for repair centers for my PS3 even thought it's fine with everything else. This makes me feel better that I'm not the only one, but please fix this, it's pretty depressing not knowing if you'll be able to finish a game in your season/franchise.

Repost as listed above.

Makes it kind of difficult to play my franchise as the Rays when I can't get through a game.

Pressing select or start while playing with the Yankees against the Rays in the later innings completely freezes the system.

How often can the bug be reproduced?
Any time the game is paused or selected is pressed in 6+innings in this series maybe more later in the season. Please this is taking away from the value of the game, I can't guarantee that I'll finish a game 30 min into playing it.

Guys,

I have a temporary fix for this, as I was one of the one's experiencing this problem. When playing at Tampa Bay, choose any stadium OTHER THAN Tropicana Field to play in. I believe it's an issue with that stadium.

After locking up in 4 consecutive games, trying to play the first game of my series versus Tampa, I decided to try playing it in a different ballpark. For proximity's sake, I chose Sun Life Stadium (Miami).

The game went off without a hitch, and I was hitting the hell out of the pause and select button in the later innings, trying to break it.

I'm 99% positive it's the ballpark. For now, if you're playing as or against Tampa Bay in Franchise Mode, don't play a game in Tropicana Field. Pick a different ballpark.
